This is going to be my new favorite hangout. A short drive down the road from my new (to me) cabin just across the line in NC. It was my first day in the area and I hadn't eaten since 6am. A Philly cheesesteak at 3pm was just what the doctor ordered. Some of the nicest folks on the planet - owner Joe in the back working his magic in the kitchen and Nancy up front welcoming guests. I prefer a plain cheesesteak with just onions. But you can get yours dressed up any way you like. Joe's baked beans are among the best I've ever had. No doctored up Bush's here. These are homemade all the way. I can't wait to go back and try one of their burgers.Not only is the food terrific and the service wonderful, but it's the cleanest place you'll ever set foot in. They proudly display their "100" certificate from the local health inspectors.I can't imagine having a better place for good eats so close to my new home.

It was a clean restaurant with friendly staff. My comment is on their pricing. An 8” Philly cheesesteak sandwich for $13.99. If you want any of the usual fixings (onions, mushrooms,etc) it’s an extra $2.00. So $15.99 for a sandwich with nothing on the side. You can purchase sides for additional charge. I think the sandwich was so-so & the pricing was too high for what was served.

I had seen reviews that are amazing, but was hesitant to try... Since I didn't have high expectations of a place nextdoor to a gas station.... That changed the moment I walked in. The little restaurant is clean bright and welcoming inside, and we were greeted warmly and immediately felt comfortable here. The soup of the day, bean and ham, was wonderful, and the Philly was one of the best I have ever had, with delicious bread and a side of the best baked beans you could imagine. My wife also had the peanut butter pie, which she let me know was great. So happy to have finally come here, and I will be there often. So many times you don't feel like you get your monies worth well here you will. It is well worth it, I highly recommend you try the Halfway Cafe, you will be glad you did.

Very clean and quite spacious between tables. Excellent service. Awesome hamburger that was thoroughly cooked yet still extremely juicy. ( Not sure how they did that, but delicious) Excellent seafood and chicken salad. Tuna salad had a little more pickles than I prefer. Got the potato wedges as a side (they are actually sliced) and they were delicious, too. Will definitely go back. I thought prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.
