This is going to be my new favorite hangout. A short drive down the road from my new (to me) cabin just across the line in NC. It was my first day in the area and I hadn't eaten since 6am. A Philly cheesesteak at 3pm was just what the doctor ordered. Some of the nicest folks on the planet - owner Joe in the back working his magic in the kitchen and Nancy up front welcoming guests. I had seen reviews that are amazing, but was hesitant to try... Since I didn't have high expectations of a place nextdoor to a gas station.... That changed the moment I walked in. The little restaurant is clean bright and welcoming inside, and we were greeted warmly and immediately felt comfortable here. The soup of the day, bean and ham, was wonderful, and the Philly was one of the best I have ever had, with delicious bread and a side of the best baked beans you could imagine....read full review

Very clean and quite spacious between tables. Excellent service. Awesome hamburger that was thoroughly cooked yet still extremely juicy. ( Not sure how they did that, but delicious) Excellent seafood and chicken salad. Tuna salad had a little more pickles than I prefer. Got the potato wedges as a side (they are actually sliced) and they were delicious, too. Will definitely go back. I thought prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.
