Why this place is popular, I have no idea. The peach, rosemary, chicken salad sounded different and good, but my sandwich had so little chicken salad it was actually a bread sandwich. The chicken chili soup had a good taste but had really big chunks of tomato and jalapeño peppers. The price of this non-sandwich was $9.95 and not worth half the price. This was my first and will be my last visit.

When you embark on your journey around the Square in Dahlonega, if you’re hungry for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or otherwise, look no further than the Picnic café. Just a few steps to the right of the legendary Kilwin’s Ice Cream building is where you will find this establishment. The staff are super friendly, explain in detail the food you’re choosing, and while you wait for it to be prepared, the aromas give your nose the happiest experience you could imagine. Check it out! You will not be disappointed.

Best tomato basil soup I have ever had! If you have never tried chicken salad with peaches, try it. It is also delicious!

First time here, I saw their menu (brunch, coffee, ice cream). I first got the "cinnamon" ice coffee- tastes great! It's real cinnamon. Then I decided to get lunch. Tried out their egg salad, potato soup and tomato soup. All delicious! It was a busy lunch hour, seems like a popular place. Will be back! I might get my usual cinnamon ice coffee for now on when I'm up here!

What is there not to like with this simple and quaint cafe. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, the staff is great. This is a must visit for everyone. Stay away from the usual fast-food joints and visit the Picnic Cafe. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

This place was adorable. The service was good and the food tasty. They offered some gluten-free options and their bakery selection was amazing. The German chocolate cake was perfection. If you’re up that way it’s a great casual dining experience!

Cute little cafe in Dahlonega system. My friend and I stopped her twice while visiting and both times we left happily. Their scones are amazing as are their lattes. The first visit I had a caramel latte, a ham and cheese quiche and a cranberry some. All were super delicious. 2nd time I had a sausage, egg and biscuit sandwich to go with a lavender latte. Equally as good. My friend also enjoyed everything she ate. The staff was always super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend when in the area.

The menu looks inviting, but that's where most of the good parts end. This place has NOTHING on its menu to accommodate diabetic diners, or Leto conscious diners. They do offer a gluten free bread for sandwiches, but they really couldn't tell you if all the ingredients in things were also gluten friendly. I tried to order a salad - you can pretty much find a salad on every menu that suits a Type II diet - not here. Every salad dressing available has sugar in it. I'm sure they taste good,but.... I asked for oil and vinegar - every restaurant has that, right? Nope. The owner came out..."we have oil." Well....if you like vegetable or corn oil or canola poured all over your salad, sure, they have oil. They also only have balsamic (sugar) vinegar or plain white vinegar - you know, like the kind in the big jug that most folks use to clean with or purge Air Conditioning drain lines.... Yummy! Even their salads are made with ingredients that keto or diabetes dieters would mostly be looking to avoid - chicken salad made with peaches, egg salad made with apples, tuna salad made with sweet pickle relish. All delicious sounding, but not great for your sugar. My wife had a really great pimento cheese BLT. I'll give them that. Mac and cheese, which my son ate, was watery and not very cheesy. Peach chicken salad sandwich - my mother liked it, but the amount of chicken salad on it....they can do better. The place is also small and cramped. Maybe they go back to intro hospitality management school class and learn to be more in tune with trends - keto, low carb, Type II friendly choices would be nice. I guess when in Dahlonega I will eat somewhere else. One star - zero isn't an option...

Great lunch spot during our quick stop in Dahlonega. Everyone enjoyed their selections and our kids ended their meals with chocolate milkshakes. Staff was attentive and friendly.

What a lunch spot You must try the sweet peach chicken salad. Oh and the traditional, and a must is the egg salad. It was quite a surprise. We Loved all 3 salads! Can't Wait to try it again!

Was In town for a baseball tournament and found some reviews saying that this place had gluten-free cookies. So I stopped by and got one and I really enjoyed it a lot. Would definitely stop again next time we’re in Dahlonega

This is a great spot for lunch. The pimento cheese is exactly what I was hoping it would be. The potato salad was very good southern potato salad. I splurged for the hummingbird cake, oh my was it sweet! But, it was quite cood also. Don't expect the traditional mocha when ordering an iced mocha, this one was closer to an iced hot chocolate. Nice, quaint locale.
