Wandering not Lost
This is not the same place as it was years ago when we came here. Used to be family oriented, people were very pleasant and food was endless and great. Now expect SUPER small portions, no refills, service is terrible, everyone acts like they don’t want to be there and instead stand around talking with friends. Read this is under new ownership and it is VERY evident. Will not be back. So many great places in Dahlonega and unfortunately this is now just a past time. We tried to complain on site but were treated VERY rude. Management is horrendous.

Oh my...it was our(4 of us) first time there. Everything tasted great...wish we could have had a little more of some dishes. It was all good. Maybe a little too pricey @ $21 each...I did purchase a Laurel Burch umbrella there that I am well pleased with & so excited to have purchased!!!
We had our wedding reception at the Smith House and it was wonderful. Mariah was helpful with planning and explaining everything. We had so many choices for food. Our server Rose was amazing and made sure everyone was well taken care of. Also, she was super nice to the baby. Nobody had an empty beer or wine glass at any point. Our guests loved the food. The fried chicken was delicious, so was the cobbler. Our family is still talking about how nice everything was. Also, the prices were reasonable. I am so glad we chose to have our reception here. We plan to return for holidays and anniversaries as well.

We have had the country style lunch & dinner menu and it's fantastic. Today we tried the Saturday & Sunday breakfast that goes till 10:30am. Awesome! All you can eat & at the Smith House quality. We enjoyed & the patio with the waterfall & breeze feels like a mini breakfast vacay. Definitely recommend for all locals & tourists as well.
I spoke to someone the other day not related to SH that told me about ordering a plate for takeout so today was the day. Everything was made fresh to order. Nothing like good old southern comfort food. It wasn't ready when it was suppose to so the front desk, the pick up location, called the restaurant. I was told it will be ready in 1 min. I was like, it takes a couple of minutes just to walk from the restaurant to the front desk. So, 7-8 minutes later it arrived. My favorite part was the fried okra.

Came with family and friends to enjoy the food and history of Smith House. Absolutely wonderful learning about the mining history of the area. The food was delicious. The fried okra was the best I've ever had. Refills on bevs and bread.
