Definitely enjoyed this historical location, quite a bit of History happened here! The park ranger in the staff were absolutely fantastic! This is such a unique place in wellworth the visit! From the historic gravesites outside, the fort that has been recreated, and all of the historical items inside the museum make this a wonderful place for a family to explore.
This is the first British fort on the Georgia coast and is a good example of what life was like back then. The complex is relatively small, but every house is accessible and one or two can be discovered, such as the barrels of rum. Well, the soldiers back then already knew what was good. Of course, a detour to the river couldn't be missed and the sign about alligators didn't deter me. But I haven't seen any.
Best to visit when the ground is dry. We went after a night of thunderstorms, and many of the paths for exhibits were muddy, so we didn't go down those paths. The exhibits were well explained, and were kept up, so no structure issues. Really enjoyed the museum, but we didn't have enough time to interact or read all the information posted The employees were helpful.
