Take a walk by the historic ruins when in town, as they are conveniently located near the restaurants, shops, and waterfront of Darien. A good example of tabby construction that is specific to this area due to the availability of oyster shells.
Definitely take the time to stop and see these historical ruins. You will pass by the shops above them which are historical as well, and looked very cute! There is a boardwalk located here and walking path with more historical landmark plaques. We also saw an alligator while on the boardwalk, no manatees.
Tabby Trading company is a one stop shop for home Goods, jewelry, purses, items for kids of all ages, and clothing. It is nestled in downtown Darian. I simply love this store. The prices are so affordable
