This was my first time trying Colombian food, and I’ve only heard great things about Las Delicias. I ordered the Arepa de Chocolo con Carne Asada online, and the description didn’t mention cheese. I also called before placing my order to make sure it didn’t have any cheese as I’m allergic. I also wrote no cheese in the notes when I submitted my order.

Unfortunately, when I received my order the arepa had cheese. I explained that I ordered one without cheese like the website states. Since the dough for the arepas is prepared beforehand, it can’t be made without cheese. I understand the chefs just can’t accommodate that, so I asked the cancel my order and receive a refund. I was told that the order couldn’t be refunded because it was placed online. The only solution was to substitute the arepa for either rice or plantain. I wasn’t even able to switch to something of similar price on the menu which was extremely disappointing.

While I’m really sad with the outcome, I can say I did receive good service, especially from Mario. He was very sweet and helpful. It isn’t anyone’s fault, but I do think I should’ve gotten a refund. I will be researching how to contact the people responsible for the website, because this is not acceptable. Las Delicias, thank you for your kindness and patience. I will try the food from the restaurant another time.

I had a great time. It’s been a few years since I came here to eat but I am so glad I chose to come in today. Our server Mario was pleasant and professional a breath of fresh air. He embodies fine dining and brevity. I will be back again can’t wait to see Mario again.
