9 Best American Restaurants in Douglas

“I have loved Huddle House for years. Their omelets are always whipped, light, fluffy and memorable. The last time I was a Huddle house was in 2016 while visiting my wife's family. Now, after the pandemic, our visit was on a sad occasion-a funeral. Prior to today, I had only visited 1 in Douglas, GA (not this one) and 1 in Fitzgerald, GA. This time last night we went to the one in Fitzgerald, GA only to find that it was closed. We attempted to visit the Huddle House in Douglas, GA, but there was a terrible back up on the road from Ocilla to Douglas and we turned around back up to Ocilla and returned the "back way". It was late that evening, and we went somewhere else. But on the way to our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express, we found this Huddle House a few steps away. We went there the next morning, today and the Western omelet broght back memories for both food and service. The wonderful friendly service I received that morning was from Michelle, who providec great service. I returned that evening for another memorable omelet served by Sam, the shift manager she also deserves a shout out for covering 2 servers that were no shows. I wish I could give Huddle House 10 stars!!“

“I don't know why it's taken me so long to rate Sno Biz. I visit every weekend sometimes twice in the summer.

The owner is friendly, the portions are generous and they haven't missed on a recommendation yet. My favorite is butterbeer with cream but a jumbo cherry with Tajin is pretty darn good too.“

“I went to Harper’s cafe for breakfast Tuesday morning, let me tell you the breakfast was so good I had to call back and let them know.. Everything was good.. who is ever cooking keep on cooking.. my food was seasoned just right, I will be back.“

“Steak is rare, asked for medium rare, Mac n cheese was not sent through conveyor belt , regardless of being a Togo order.no sauce for coconut shrimp, zucchini not seasoned and if it was seasoned I could not taste the gsp. Also worked for Ruby's so I know the expectation and standards. Was not it tonight. Last I ate there months ago, not enough parm cream sauce on pasta. I understand speed of service, but it's not a fast food joint.“

“I wish I could eat here everyday but I can't!! It's very nice on the inside. They are friendly at the counter when they are taking your order. They are pretty quick with your order although they are very busy, but they make sure you are treated right. I'm going back there again.

Parking: It's located in Douglas, Ga. You have parking on both sides of the restaurant it's just that it be so many people trying to to get in there because it's right off the street.

Kid-friendliness: It's kid and family-friendly. You'll just have to go and see for yourself.

Wheelchair accessibility: It's right in the front of the building as you park your car.“
