Maaan! Went to Starr Lounge last night & the FOOD… AMAZING! Had the Jerk burger… AMAZING! Thought it was a bit pricey until I bit it…Totally understand the pricing!!! Worth every penny! There was a live drummer there playing with the DJ which sounded AWESOME, we danced like college students and we’re waaay past college age! Not a big crowd which was perfect! Super cute spot! My fishbowl was straight koolaid, zero liquor but the food made up for it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!

However, this evening, I settled to take a leap of faith and can attest that I am absolutely gratified with this decision.The food was-zero over-exaggeration- one of the best Southern comfort meals I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Without a shadow of a doubt, one can tell that the chef and the rest of the team put their hearts and devotion into the meals that they lovingly cook.To start, the Blackened Salmon was absolutely divine and well-prepared, bursting with rich flavors with a drizzle of Cajun sauce that added a pleasant touch of onion, garlic, and herb-like tastes. I am honestly so glad that I asked for extra sauce.The creamed spinach was incredibly enjoyable, also having flavors of garlic and a dash of parmesan cheese that paired well with a fair amount of yellow rice. Lastly, there came six sweet, lightly charred, and deliciously caramelized Fried Plantains.I will be ordering from this restaurant again. I am waiting patiently for the day when they add drinks and desserts to their Doordash menu.

My waitress was nice .my drink was a Lil weak I came for a birthday party ..yet the view outside is not so great add led lights to attract the people ..my second drink took along time and the people next to me was still waiting j didn't try the food. But one lady wings was not cooked alll the way .Dj was cool just gotta be versatile on seeing the crowd you have... I was literally yawning and ready to go .get everybody in training and let the chef cook .and get bartebdet to tend to the drinks cause it seem like it was a go by ear type setup and add another restroom it could be great just make some changes. But I won't be back

I'd love to give this restaurant a better review but the truth is we definitely got some "end of the night" food. Two orders of salmon over yellow rice w/ creamed spinach. The salmon was decent but the cream sauce over the top was super salty and overcooked I believe because it was very dark. The creamed spinach was meh in flavor and was over cooked to the point where it was the consistency of baby food. I think if prepared fresh this entire plate would have been good. This was a carry out order so no details regarding service or restaurant interior.Edit: after viewing other photos of the same dish...cream sauce is definitely over cooked and burnt.

I think they have the best wings hands down! But the customer service is straight garbage!! Servers are inconsiderate, hood and thieves! Came down with my mom and nephew for my bday, was bragging about how great the food was to them. Our server, little young generic Rihanna looking, ramen noodles eating looking a$$ girl, found it cool to write in her own tip to the ticket, in addition to the tip we'd left!! Which she honestly didn't deserve. I live to support black owned businesses, however instances like this is WHY WE RARELY SUSTAIN!!

#1 for me is the customer service, which is excellent!!! The food is excellent, flavorful and always comes out hot! I LOVE THE CHEF, he's everything! BUT....the drinks are weak and hookahs are not good. They are super cheap with the Shisha. But it's a cool spot.

My husband and I were looking for a black-owned restaurant in Douglasville. We found Starr Food Lounge on a Map search. The food was very good with a nice presentation. The dishes were all ample portion sizes. The service was good as well. The downfall is the decor. The table clothes were plastic with burn holes as well as the seats. If the restaurant enhanced their decorations to match the food, it would be five stars. We will definitely return for the food.
