You already know — I came for the coffee, which I have little bad to say about. Not amazing, but better than some other spots. The vibe immediately gives “spoken word spot” and the ample stage with piano, mic stands and the likes really stirred my inner Darius & Nina-ChiTown-love-jones! Wow! Cafe Rothem is a little slice of magic. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon it with my partner the other day and we decided to come in today and wow it is great! Perfect sandwiches, and expertly crafted coffee and espresso based drinks. I had a cortado that was just delicious and my husband had a mocha that was exactly what you want from a mocha! If you enjoy reading or listening to music, this is a nice place with good ambience. It's a bit retro, kind of a seventies vibe, the old music equipment and old projectors on the shelf. There's a stage with a piano and PA system. It looks like shows are performed there. The coffee was good, I had an Americano. My partner had a hot latte.
