I tried to wait a few visits overtime before I review a restaurant… This past Friday was my third time ordering. I normally get the jerk chicken and jollof rice… The first two times it was delicious… This was my first time having African jerk, chicken, and I was definitely pleased with the taste, texture, and variety of spices used. The rice was also very, very tasty. I do not usually eat African food, so these were welcomed difference in terms of spice and their interpretation of a dish I have all the time (Jamaican jerk chicken). This past Friday, I decided to switch it up and order the oxtail, suya chicken, and egusi…I also wanted to try to pepper sauce/gravy. The gentleman that usually takes my order, I believe is the owner… He is always very friendly and patient and makes recommendations according to what you tell him you like. My only criticism is that the oxtail could have been a bit meatier. It was my first time having egusi And I found it to be absolutely delicious over the jollof rice… Just as the owner told me it would be. Next time I will jump all the way in and order the pounded yam with it. The pepper sauce was delicious as well… But just as he also advised, it was VERY SPICY. Still, I’d still order that small cup or two again…because I like spice but must be able to control how much of it have. The flavors were so unique and like nothing I have ever had. I’ll be ordering this week for lunch! Thanks for bringing this delicious food and friendly service to Northlake!

Disgusting attitude up front. I understand it gets busy but that doesn’t mean you should treat bad or scream at them. From walking in , ordering my food , checking to see if it was ready, and pick up was an horrible experience!

My first time trying Suya, it was actually really good. Extremely flavorful! Had the plantains to go along with it and enjoyed them too! Will come back.

The taste of the food is delicious my issue is with the service and the portion sizes that seem to change majorly. This last time was my final straw. I placed an order for my food at 8:30pm. I arrived around 8:45. My food still wasn't ready by 9:30. I saw so many people place their orders and walk out. Now mind you I checked on my order at 9:15 and I was told they were working on it. By 9:35 I was asking for a refund which it still took them 10 minutes to do and insteadnof giving me a receipt he just showed me on the machine. The time before, when I came in I asked for my food in because their portion sizes when you're eating in are MUCH larger than when you get it to go. They ignored my request and packed my food to go. This was my last time visiting this restaurant. I'll go to my previous African restaurant
Made an order from here paid $50 dollars just to have something given to me in a 28oz container that’s no bigger than my hand and not to mention the food was cold when I received it… never ordering here again the portion is too small and not worth the money

These people have no respect for time. I’m Nigerian so I understand but it’s honestly ridiculous! On too many occasions I have called to order food 30 mins in advance and still have to wait when I arrive. Today I had enough! I called at 4pm for food and arrive at 440, I ask when the food will be out and he says 5 mins and of course he makes sure I pay before he goes to the back to grab the food and I still waited another 15 mins. I don’t care how good the food is this behavior is outrageous and a terrible way to continue doing business.

First time here & first time eating suya. Dined in & ordered suya chicken, two kinds of rice, plantains, fried yams & coleslaw. The chicken was amazing—big chunks of skin-on dark meat, smoky, well-seasoned & tender. The plantains & fried yam didn’t have much taste on their own, but the yams came with a yummy, spicy pepper sauce. When I asked what was in it, the person who took our order said, ‘you know, family recipe. If I tell you—‘ I finished, ‘you’d have to kill me.’ 😆 I’ll never know, but really good. My daughter liked the Jollof rice. The coleslaw helped cool things down. Only bottled drinks available, even water. Steady business while we were there, even at an off time. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but I would go back for more of that chicken.
