Used to be a favorite, but disappointed with recent changes
If you had asked me a year ago, I would have easily given SSONG’S HOTDOG a 5-star review. I’ve always loved their spicy seaweed hotdog — it used to have that reddish color and flavorful kick.
On my recent visit, I noticed the color was duller and the taste was different — more like plain black pepper than actual spice. I even asked the young lady at the counter if I had received the regular seaweed by mistake. She was polite and checked with the owner, then explained they went back to the original spice recipe from when they first opened.
Unfortunately, this version isn’t spicy at all, just peppery. She kindly offered to change it, but I was disappointed that they changed something that used to taste so good.
As for the Cup Ddeokbokki, the flavor is still the same (which I appreciate), but the portion size each time is becoming smaller and smaller.
Overall, I used to really love this place, but lately the quality and portions just aren’t what they used to be. I hope they bring back the old recipe and portions someday — it really made them stand out.

Love this place, I feel like this is one of the only remaining korean corndog places :(( the batter is too thick sometimes, but overall this is a nice place to try k-dogs when you crave one
A lovely little stand inside of Super H Mart! Their menu is cooked fresh and takes about 8 minutes. The worker was really kind and patient with us as we browsed the menu. The potato mozzarella stick was very filling and the cheese pull was amazing!

Super friendly the corn dogs are delicious overall goood atmosphere. Totally recommend for first time goers who want to try korean corn dog for the first time.

It was one of my favorite snack places, and I got some very often when I visited H mart. But last week, when I ordered, the person (women) who takes orders looks like being angry. The way she talked is annoying. It was an unpleasant experience. Just misses the previous owner. He was very nice every time. I won't go back there.

Giant dogs, light on the corn meal but heavy on crunch. All sausages are 100% beef, and crab cake and mozzarella stick options, as well.
