All of the bread from this shop is wonderfu, especially the ciabatta and mountain rye -- except the gluten free loaf. For $10 you get a small hard lump of dense "bread" that has no flavor, weird color, and a gritty texture. Totally not up to the standards of the regular bread, and they really should remove it from their offerings.

Best Authentic Bagel in Ellijay! I've eaten bagels all over the USA and the everything bagels from High Mountain Bread are delicious! I also purchased an Olive Bread and it was also really good. I highly recommend High Mountain Bread for Fresh Baked Bread. Heads up -they close at 4

I popped in for a quick bite to eat before a hike. The croissants were buttery and flakey. Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The filling for the almond croissant was delicious and pretty much like a pip-able marzipan. The filling in the apple and cheese danish was spiced perfectly. Be sure to grab a guava lemonade or cold brew coffee. The creators and bakers at High Mountain Bread are putting out their best. I even had to go back again to grab a couple of loaves to bring back home on my way out of town.Dietary restrictions: They had a gluten free sourdough bread loaf.

Stopped here for lunch and had an amazing Italian Sandwich. The bread isn’t overly dense or tough, which is something I’ve run into in other sandwich shops. The Guava Lemonade is also great. Highly recommend.

So glad it's in Ellijay. Baked goods delish...egg breakfast items are dry ? could get alittle more cranberries and walnuts in the loaf ! ?

I stopped by today for the first time. Purchased a loaf of cranberry walnut bread for after Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches. What a beautiful loaf! I had to try some before the turkey. It was crispy outside, soft inside with the juiciest cranberries. It was pricey but well worth the splurge. Nothing like this in any grocery. I rarely write a review but I can't believe this is available in a food desert like Ellijay. It's tucked away between Lowes and Hibbetts. I only hope they get the support here to stay around. I waited too long to try them but I'm afraid there are lots of great carbs in my future.

I'm so sad that this place is in Ellijay. I originally live in Atlanta area, but was just driving by from visiting Blue Ridge. I was casually looking for a breakfast place, but instead spotted this specialty bread shop as I needed some bread for sandwiches at home. Boy, first of all, I'm a city girl and never ever wanted to live in the countryside until I had their bread tonight. Their bread literally tastes like the ones you get at a nice fancy restaurant as a complementary piece with just a hint of butter; it was just that good. I'm so sad that this shop is so far from where I live but this is a must-stop place for me from now on whenever I go north.

Sourdough loaf tasted good but was either very underproved or hadn't been knocked back during proving. Huge holes in the center of the loaf that basically rendered most slices useless. Would not pay $9/loaf

the choco berry pop was a no go (outside was good)the lemon one was pretty good, their a little more dense on the inside, I tried the chocolate chip which was good, look forward to trying more things

Enjoyed a sourdough boule and a couple of pastries. Cashier was friendly and patient with our tourist antics. Everything looked delicious but had to restrain ourselves.

We’re lucky to have a bakery of this caliber baking fresh bread and pastries in our community.
