Best Authentic Bagel in Ellijay! I've eaten bagels all over the USA and the everything bagels from High Mountain Bread are delicious! I also purchased an Olive Bread and it was also really good. I highly recommend High Mountain Bread for Fresh Baked Bread. Heads up -they close at 4
I popped in for a quick bite to eat before a hike. The croissants were buttery and flakey. Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The filling for the almond croissant was delicious and pretty much like a pip-able marzipan. The filling in the apple and cheese danish was spiced perfectly. All of the bread from this shop is wonderfu, especially the ciabatta and mountain rye -- except the gluten free loaf. For $10 you get a small hard lump of dense "bread" that has no flavor, weird color, and a gritty texture. Totally not up to the standards of the regular bread, and they really should remove it from their offerings.
