We just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family at the Augsburg Haus. The food was excellent as well as the service. The Black Forest cake was to die for. We have been coming to this place for years and it has always been the best. The food portions out tremendous. If you leave hungry, it is not the fault of these folks. The service is friendly and prompt. They treated us like family. All of our friends and family had a great time. We really appreciate the Augsburg Haus making our 50th anniversary special for us. Thank you so much.

I love the decor and ambiance of Augsburg Haus as it reminds me of some of the cozy family owned restaurants I went to in Germany. We arrived at 5:00 on Super Bowl Sunday and it was almost empty. They did a steady business in takeout orders but we were part of a handful of guests. There were signs on the table's announcing that new appetizers were available. Our waitress was quick to bring us waters and a menu. I think in years past they used to serve yummy brotchen with butter but we didn't get any this time. Our friend Sal ordered beef with spaetzle, mom got jagerschnitzel with roasted potatoes and I got the dinner bratwurst with mashed potatoes and goulash gravy and sauerkraut. Our meals included a salad choice and mom and Sal got the German cucumber while I got the small German salad which is a sampling of four salad: the cucumber, German potato salad, and purple and white cabbage salads. All the salads were fresh and tasty. I'm always surprised by the huge portions of the entrees. It would be easy to share but they do charge a fee to split an entree. My bratwurst were perfect, the mashed potatoes were the chunky kind that I prefer. The sauerkraut was cooked well but extremely salty. Mom said her schnitzel was a bit overcooked but still good. Sal's beef and spaetzle was tender and she thought the spaetzle was very good. We all had to get to go boxes since we only finished half of our dinners. They do offer several German beers and wines. We were too full to consider dessert. Our total bill was about $85 before the tip and included one beer. There aren't too many choices in the area for German food so there isn't much to compare it to but I'd say Augsburg Haus does capable, if not inspired, German cuisine.

I had a chance to dine at this facility and was disappointed with the food. The salad was delicious but the Jaegerschnitzel was cold and seemed to be per-prepared. There was no real authentic German flavor to it neither. I personally will not return to this restaurant. The presentation of the dish was good which is why I was shocked that it would be cold and taste old.

Augsburg Haus has some of the best food around. Great quality food, fantastic service, and a wonderfully homey atmosphere! I always feel like family coming here and have never had a bad meal. If you want something great, my top 3 favorite meals are the Adolf’s special, currywurst, and their Jalapeño cheddar smoked bratwurst!Great German food, great German atmosphere, and fantastic people! If you are looking for some authentic German food at an appropriate price, you have to give this place a try!

I spent some time in Bavaria as a dependent. The food is close to what I remember and very delicious. The atmosphere reminds me of small restaurants in Bad Tölz Germany. You won't be disappointed.

If you have ever been to Villa Europa this place pales in comparison. The macaroni was out of the box verified by the waiter. My chicken cordon blu was made with frozen patties and there was no sauce. Their idea of a German salad is not what a German salad is supposed to be. I lived in Germany for 5 years. This place is awful, I'd steer clear.

Growing up in Germany (Bamberg), and then moving to the States when I was 18, I can say this is the best German restaurant that I have been to in the USA so far. Some of the combinations are a little odd, but acceptable. For instance, serving spätzle (egg noodle) instead of klösse (potato balls) with the Sauerbraten (roast), but it was still very good. I like that they have a more focused menu so as not to overwhelm the customer with choice. The dark wheat beer in the boot was delectable. The only thing I would have to say needs a little bit of improvement is the staff seeing if you're ok. Nobody ever asked if we wanted refills on our drinks and we rarely saw any staff period after the initial bringing of your food until it was time for the check. Everyone was very friendly, and a caveat to the aforementioned, it was very busy. So for some great tasting Bavarian food that hits the spot, this is my go-to place from now on when my Mama isn't visiting from Germany.

I had the sauerbraten. Very generous portion and delicious. My companion had one of the schnitzels and it was also delicious and generous.

We moved away around the same time the original owner passed away and yesterday was our first trip back. Adolf, the original owner's family continues to run the restaurant. No visible changes since our last visit. Ambiance remains the same, very casual and a bit of a diner with a German theme. It is a good option for German in the CSRA. No complaints with their cucumber salad, schnitzel, bratwurst, kraut and spatzle. I do have a beef with their potato salad, I prefer it to be room temperature/warm with bacon...it is still good if you haven't had it another way. One person at our table had Cordon Bleu and said it was tough, so perhaps avoid the French food The servings are huge and I never get to try the dessert, but based off of the pictures it looks worthy of a trip for dessert alone.

Exceptional service. Felt like I was back in Germany. A lot of food and was good. Didn't quite take me back to Germany but very close. Hubby had chicken cordon Bleu and I had Jaeger

My husband loves schnitzel. So we grab takeout often or drop in for an early dinner sometimes. I like the cucumber salad and the desserts! The atmosphere is fun and clean!

Staff was hard to find and not very friendly. Salads came before appetizers. Food was eh.
