Beautiful plates. Food is decent, you’re getting downtown ATL prices and … almost there food. Service was great. Atmosphere quiet. We came for an anniversary dinner and almost cleaned our plates. The risotto is too thick, that’s my only complaint. Pear vodka drinks on point ?

Awesome, a storm coming in and Scott and his team stayed open for our reservation of 6. Food and service was outstanding. Mark was great as our waiter and couldn't have asked for more from the entire team. Thank you.

The difference is Scott Dixon. Name another restaurant owner that makes you feel like you have been invited into his home. The wait staff is second to none. They speak of the specials with excitement and conviction. When we want to impress a client, new hire, or special person there is only one place to dine. If you are new to our town have dinner with my pick for dining. Try the Lamb it is second to none. Scott thank you for being you and thank you for Scott’s!!

We had a great dining experience tonight at Scott’s Downtown Restaurant in Gainesville, Ga. Our server was Brianna B. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Brianna was very pleasant and professional. Both of us had a cup of the New England Clam Chowder. It was excellent. Maybe the best I have ever had. I chose the two 6 ounce lobster tails with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both entrees were excellent. Martinis were also very good.

We liked the upscale design and decor of the restaurant. Will be dining again very soon.

I really had high hopes for this one. It was our anniversary and we love trying new places. I've seen posts everywhere that they just renovated, but I can't find what looked new. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant didn't have many people when we arrived. There was 1 couple at a small table and a party in a "private" room. We were seated directly in-between both of these. Didn't make for a romantic anniversary dinner with the older couple coughing, sniffling and making sucking noises. (I'm thinking they had something in their teeth and they kept trying to remove it?) Then the party in the room was loud and the doors to the party room were left open. With the restaurant so empty, I don't know why we weren't seated somewhere more private.
Drinks were pretty good. My husband was told the wine he first ordered was out. He liked the second choice he made, once it finally arrived. There was a wait to receive everything we ordered. Drinks took forever. Our poor server was trying. I saw him WAITING at the bar for the bartender to finally pour our drinks.
Food - Calamari was pretty good. It is a very small portion, but enough for an appetizer for 2 people. I really wanted the sea bass, but I didn't want it with the veggies that were supposed to come with it. I asked if they could substitute for brussel sprouts and sauteed spinach. Our server wasn't sure so he asked if I'd still like it if they can't. I told him if they wouldn't substitute, then I'll have the salmon with those sides. My dinner arrived and it was the salmon. They would rather me pay for a less expensive meal than substitute sides for the more expensive meal. I find that odd. My husband ordered the scallops. They were cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, his risotto and asparagus were ice cold. He had to send it back. (That's not something he normally does, so I know it was bad.) My food wasn't piping hot, but it wasn't cold either. It at least tasted good. They kept apologizing for the wait, and offered my husband a free glass of wine. He accepted and they brought the carafe over with it and poured it into what he still had left. It wasn't the same wine! They now mixed 2 completely different wines and my husband said it tasted funny. He didn't even finish it.
There was nothing offered to celebrate our anniversary. Everywhere else we've been offers you a free dessert. Nope. Not here. Dessert was offered, but not for free. We declined and said we were full. It was also almost 2 hours of being here and we were done. This experience does not make us want to return or recommend to anyone else. The kitchen obviously has some work to do to fix things, along with the bar and management. Thank you to our server for trying to make it a good experience for us.

Amazing experience for our 38th Anniversary! Because of my career, my wife and I have been very fortunate to enjoy many high end dinners at upscale establishments but none have surpassed the experience we had at Scott's Friday evening. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately in a "special small room" since it was a special occasion for us. Our Server, Brianna was amazing, friendly and attentive and was just a pleasure. Food order for my wife was two lobster tails with baked potato and cream spinach and it was as good as any lobster we have ever ordered. I ordered blackened Maui with baked potato and crispy Brussel sprouts which were out of this world. The Maui was seasoned perfectly and was the perfect texture......as good as I have ever had. We were briefly checked on by both the dining room manager as well as the owner who wanted to be assured, we were enjoying our experience. At the end of our meal we were served a complementary dessert to top off our celebration....nice touch. The Gainesville square is a great environment and we enjoyed walking for a bit after dinner. Overall I could not recommend this establishment any higher and will be a regular for our evenings out.

We dined on September 13, 2024. Brianna was our server. She was knowledgeable of all the menu items. Brianna was very pleasant and professional. Martinis were great. The clam chowder was the best we have ever had. I had the double lobster tails and my spouse had the Sea Bass. We will dine again soon.

Not worth the price paid. Food was cold. Everything took a long time to receive, including drinks. I left a more specific review on Yelp and Google. We won't be back.

Under construction. Google Maps takes you to the back alley...be careful following that because there is a particular waitress that will make you feel very unwelcome should you make such a horrible mistake. Probably will have my private events somewhere else specifically because of the way she treated me. Manager was kind, I will note that.

Edit: Will be giving it another go soon. It makes me happy when issues are addressed by owners/management. Thank you for the reply Scott. Living proof that customer service isn't completely dead in 2024.

Food is one part of the experience. And while it is one of the most important parts, the rest counts as well: The mood, the atmosphere, the feeling…when you’re at Scott’s, you are greeted by friendly people. The atmosphere is warm and sophisticated. The food is divine, the attention to detail and plating - top notch. What stands out the most is the owner, Scott. He takes his time to greet each one of his guests. He makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. You won’t find this at most restaurants. You’re just another order to them, but at Scotts, you’re part of the family.

We had the first reservation of the evening, 5 pm. We were the first guests seated in the restaurant, yet a table that arrived after us had a server first. Our server was Katie. She was very pleasant, but also a bit casual, leaning on the doorframe of our semi enclosed dining area. My cocktail was delicious! I was missing my hot sauce (not tabasco) with my oysters, but not the end of the world. I switched my order to the special that evening, quail, while my boyfriend had the tenderloin with shrimp. He loved the shrimp! However, those selections were quite dry, and the accompanying sides, lackluster. Desserts, pretty tasty, but my toffee pudding just a tad dry as well. Our longest wait also incurred during dessert. We also weren't sure if you had to request bread service, as it wasn't mentioned? I did have a dirty bread plate at first, which was promptly replaced, and we did see other tables eating bread?? My boyfriend's water glass was also a little too “frosted” to feel comfortable drinking from. The restaurant doesn't have a loud environment, and I did quite enjoy the live music. Oh, and the candied bacon, delicious!!

We sat at the very comfortable bar upstairs and had a glass of wine and looked over the new menu and great preparations. We started off with fabulous fresh garden salad - we both had the blackened Mahi Mahi which was prepared perfectly. finished up with a fresh cup of coffee and a chocolate dish that was delicious. Overall a fine meal with nice conversations with the bar tender and his assistant. Mike & Lynn Briggs original Scott's patrons since day one in Gainesville

All the food was wonderful. Large portions of it too! We started off with the warm crab dip which was amazing! The Salmon with bourbon sauce and shrimp & grits were our entrees and they were also excellent! We would return and order the same things.
