I can’t compliment the staff at The Stag enough. We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner on Thursday night and they executed to perfection. Avalon was a great host and the upstairs event room was beautifully elegant and perfect for our bride and groom. The food was great and selection of drinks were perfect for everyone. Avalon kept me up to date with where the open bar tab was at throughout the event which I greatly appreciated as we had a budget and she ended it below the spot I asked her to. Thank you all for a great event for such a special occasion!

Really enjoyed lunch there! I went away from my normal type of choice (steak sandwich), and had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. The wrap was really tasty, and the fries had an extra flavor on them that was excellent. My wife had the ham and gruyere sandwich which was so good! Looking forward to trying the dinner menu.

The Stag Chop House is such a gem on the Gainesville square! The location is perfect, and the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy. Perfect for a date night. The cocktails are incredible (seriously some of the best I’ve had), and the steaks were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Overall just a great experience start to finish. Can’t wait to go back!

Me and my fiancé had a terrible experience at this restaurant when we first got there we had to stand and wait to be seated, but we put in our reservation two days prior to the day we had to come. My fiancé had on heels with her feet was hurting, and other people was walking in and was seated mind you we are African-American and a Caucasian facility. We love the music of jazz and thought that we can come there and get a vibe really a romantic vibe, but it was a very terrible experience. We are TikTok creators, so that’s what we do we go to different To review food and the atmosphere and vibe of different restaurants. I will not go to this restaurant again because this was a terrible experience, especially being that we already made reservations and that we are African-Americans and To stand there. Not only that I had a Caucasian guy walk up to me and told me that I look like his Uber driver because of my locs. That was humiliating and disturbing because I was with my fiancé eating, so I bet my tongue, but I thought that was very disrespectful. Being that we experienced this on a night, we wanted to just hear some jazz music and eat some good food We will not be coming here again.

I am at the hospital in Gainesville.My dear friend had broken his neck and has had serious complication after a surgery. I just needed a peaceful break a drinking a meal to take my mind off for a minute. The staff at Chop House took care of me and made me feel like a local. The food was fantastic and the server at the bar was very kind. I am very thankful and recommended.

My husband and I had our wedding at The Stag, and we were absolutely blown away. It was perfect. Avalon, the event coordinator, was so lovely to work with the whole time, and she was there with us the whole night making sure everything moved smoothly. Angie, our amazing bartender, was a dream. They took such good care of us, and I’ll never get over it! The food was to die for, and we had raving reviews from all the guests. 10000/10. Thank you guys so much! I feel like you’re a part of the family now!

I visited for the first time with my mom to celebrate her birthday. She was really craving a good hamburger, and the STAG Burger looked promising on the menu, so we both ordered one. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations.
Both burgers were overcooked—one was supposed to be medium, the other medium rare, but neither had any pink inside. That said, the flavor was still pretty good. However, key toppings were missing: there was no BBQ sauce on the side, and neither burger had the peppadews or the fried onion ring listed on the menu.
For our side, we both chose onion rings, hoping for something homemade from a place that calls itself a chop house. What we got clearly came from frozen—nothing special.
Service was mostly good, though we did have to ask for a couple of things more than once. Our server did offer to have the burgers redone, but we decided to pass. To her credit, she removed the appetizer from our bill, which we appreciated.

The Stag is an exceptional dining experience in Gainesville. We came for dinner and were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and upscale, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed evening out. The food was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and the wine selection was thoughtful and well-curated. Service was attentive without being overbearing. A true gem—we’ll definitely be returning.
