Absolutely loved this place. Casual atmosphere, friendly service and great food. They give you hush puppies instead of bread that were fantastic(and I usually don't like them), the staff was really friendly, and the food was amazing while still being reasonably priced. Took my date there in Friday night and only spent $70 with me getting beer and including a 20%. Will be going again.

The food here is amazing and the portions are very filling. We had enough to bring home for later the portions are so generous. The deluxe po boy is a winner.

The cheesecake was really good. This place should really be a bakery rather a seafood place.

I’m going to try to be fair with this restaurant this restaurant is not bad I just feel like he needs a little more attention and I like be invited when that happens as soon as you come in if feels like a funeral inside the waitress never once smiled I do feel like it’s too expensive though. I tried the grits in the shrimp oysters. The way they handled the oyster here it’s beyond bad for a place that serves seafood. The shrimp on the grits was just too salty and the flavors just feel like they don’t go together.

Called ahead and asked if they had steamed oysters ..they said they did! Took almost an hour for the first dozen then they ran out. Grilled fish was smallest portion I've ever seen in a seafood restaurant and fried flounder was literally burnt. Do not recommend this

When I went they were short on wait staff but the servers did a good job keeping drinks filled and checking on tables. The food was ok but I ordered a poboy and I guess the kitchen never made one before. It was supposed to have andouille sauteed with onions and peppers, fried shrimp lettuce, tomato, and sauce. There was no onion the peppers were raw and the tomato was in huge wedges that didn't fit in a sandwich. Also they gave me a whole sausage but it was quite over cooked. Ended up chopping the tomato and sausage on my plate to make a sandwich.

Actually sad to write this review. Long time Fishtales lover. Even after the ownership change, the new owner kept the same recipies but.....wife and I went there tonight and were terribly suprised. We ordered our usual delicious, large, fresh from the gulf fried shrimp. What the server brought to our table was tiny little, right out of the Gortons box, pre-breaded, frozen shrimp. I could tell it was frozen because when I picked up the greasy little thing, it slid right out of my fingers leaving me holding the entire breading. Yikes! Also the delicious home made tarter sauce is gone and replaced with some watery bought junk that tastes terrible. We immediately let the server know that this was unacceptable and we would not be staying, eating or paying. She apologized and said the owner was making a lot of changes. Yeah unfortunately I can tell, and not for the better. We promptly left. I guess fishtales USED to be our favorite seafood restaurant.

Hubs and I went for a date night. We were able to walk in and be seated right away (a wait build up shortly thereafter). Service was prompt and Shelley checked on us regularly. Hubs irderd the fish and shrimp plate, and I ordered the catfish filets. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection, but Hubs was very disappointed with the portion size. For $19 he received one tilapia filet and 5 shrimp. The menu description did not specify so its partially our fault for not asking. My catfish was great, and I received 2 filets for $16.

Small place, quiet, a bit pricey but it is worth it! Good food all around. Maybe even great given that it is best seafood I've had lately.
