The Brunswick Stew here is a must-have!! I'm very picky about my Brunswick Stew, but this is the best I've ever tasted!The wait-staff are wonderful and attentive. We got the sweetest young lady yesterday; she couldn't do enough to make sure we were satisfied.The barbecue pork and sauce are delicious, and our SIL is a big fan of their brisket.The atmosphere is friendly and on-par for southern barbecue places. There's the cutest train on tracks around the ceiling that kids can activate from a button at the entrance.

The Dude
The beef brisket plate or brisket sandwich plate are awesome here. We always get the chopped version. The pulled pork is great as well but I usually end up with the brisket. (I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.) The Brunswick stew is a nice little addition if you're extra hungry and need a bit more to fill you up. We eat here quite frequently.If you like BBQ, give this restaurant a shot!P.S. - There's a model train which runs the upper perimeter of the dinning area(s). The kids always look forward to seeing the train make its run. It's a down home nostalgic atmosphere inside.Parking: This place can get really busy on some occasions. There are several parking areas but I've been there on a few evenings where you may have to wait a minute or two to get a good "near the door" parking spot.Kid-friendliness: The walls of this place is are lined with all sorts of things which will make for a great game of "I spy" for the whole family. Although on most nights the food arrives so quickly that you may have to cut your game short.Wheelchair accessibility: The building is at gound level and the tables are at a perfect height to accommodate most types of wheelchairs.

My husband and I have been looking for a good bbq place around here. We are so glad we found Southern Pit. It was some of the best I’ve had in Georgia. I especially liked the chicken which was perfectly cooked and not dry. All the sides were terrific too. The best part of the experience was our waitress, Kyna. She was super fast, helpful with helping us decide what to order, and really friendly. I think she was actually the waitress on the Mama June episode that was filmed there!I highly recommend Southern Pit!

Love all the updates at the restaurant and online but always the same great tasting bbq that never changes! Been going since a little girl and still go quite often, nothing compares! The staff are always working hard and keep things running smoothly even on busy nights! If you ever have to wait on a busy night, I promise it’s fast, friendly service once you sit down! The owners are doing a wonderful job!
Some of the cashiers at takeout are rude and put food you didn't order in your order and charge you for it and then want to argue about it when called out about it. The food is really not good since new owners have taken over. Will never patronize this business anymore.
