Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Good lord!!! The food was so delicious!! World famous is an understatement. Maybe it was the fact we went in the last 30 minutes and the restaurant was empty but the chicken was so amazing 😭🙏🏼 Our server was so nice and the epitome of southern hospitality. The fried okra is the best I’ve ever had.

First off. There were hardly any lights turned on. It was dark asf because of it. The mac and cheese not good and the cheese on top isn't melted, not sure why serve it like that. The prices are down right robbery while the food doesn't match. The tenders were ok at best.the fried chicken, i was told by someone with us that was fairly bland not spicy at all. The tenders were over cooked and chewy and plastic utensils don't cut thru it. Might as well go to zaxbys pay 5 dollars plus less and get better food. I'm not saying it wasn't ok but it damn sure isn't worth the money. When we left I kept smelling pee. Confused of why until the kid with us said I smell it 2. The chicken tenders quite literally smelled like piss. So much so I'd almost have them tested for it. Oh 3 tables were there it took30 to 40 mins to get our food. Oh and the piece of bread just a heads up is a piece of white loaf bread. But for real how 4 prices of chicken and 3 sides equals 40 bucks is beyond me. Place is robbingpeople with these prices

Chicken is always good. It's a bit spicy, so beware of that. It does take a while to get your order as they cook to order not ahead of time.

I come here for lunch often. Order to go and have a beer at bar. The food is always fresh and delicious, and Jackie and Rodney are super friendly. Highly recommend visiting!

Food is amazing here, easily one of my favorites for fried chicken. Will say last time I was in they were down some people so likely is some manning issues but always a reliable spot to eat and never had a bad meal here.

Never expect a fast turnaround, BUT, you can’t rush perfection. Everything is cooked to order so expect a 20/30 min wait.
And always expect probably the best fried chicken you’ll have. Far exceeds any of the chicken fast food joints, great portions, good selection of sides and friendly service.
Always love to come here and enjoy it every single time.

Disturbing!! I was just served this piece of pie and it looks like an animal has been eating the side of it. Very bad! Oh, the chicken used to be perfectly spiced now NO salt!

Mac and cheese is package Mac and cheese. Fries are ok. Wings near burnt when I ordered..chicken thighs and drum sticks were ok. However over priced. You are better of just getting chicken at KFC, Popeyes or grocery store.

Had not been since they opened so took my husband to lunch here. Wasn’t super busy but a few tables were full.

There was one server and one cook during the lunch rush.

The server was honestly doing the best she could. But, after 40 minutes with no food, we left hungry.

The last ten minutes we were there, not a single plate came out to anyone else in the restaurant.

We went next door - ordered, ate and on our way home in 20 minutes.

I see there are other reviews stating the same that the place is very understaffed currently.

Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal but I only get an hour for lunch.

The guy who took my order was amazing. He’s attentive and patient. He made sure that I get the things I needed. The food is also fresh and amazing too.

I was really surprised. We got two piece chicken meal and a chicken strip meal. The portions were small and the food utensils were plastic. This meal cost me over $40. They only have spicy chicken except for the strips. We'll, my wife which doesn't like spicy said that they were spicy also.
