Ordered medium rare and got medium to medium well. Would have hoped the premier downtown steakhouse would have good temperature control. Was with coworkers so didn’t want to make a fuss. Would still come again. Everything else was delicious.

Everything about our meal and experience was amazing! Two of us had a dry aged ribeye that was tender and cooked to perfection. Two of us had surf and turf with a tenderloin and lobster tail. Buratta app was also delicious. The only disappointment was the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was overcooked and chewy.Jordan, our server, was spectacular and made the experience even better for all of us. Highly recommended dining experience. The restaurant is quiet and quaint and just a fabulous experience all around.

Went to this place for the first time, and I enjoyed myself. Amazing service from the staff and my favorite part was after I was done eating dinner I went to the front and enjoyed a cigar.

I would like to piggyback off Erica Simmons post as this was the most horrible interaction between customers and a manager I have ever witness. This is so surprising for such an iconic restaurant in the Macon Ga area.

Horrible & unforgettable negative experience with the owner of this restaurant! In town for a funeral and our family of 12 ate dinner at this restaurant on a Friday night. All was great until dessert. We asked if there were nuts in the bread pudding and asked for no almonds on the other dessert. The ice cream dessert was brought out with almonds which we sent back but when my 2 kids with nut allergies ate a bite of the bread pudding that we were told had no nuts they both immediately had an allergic reaction (tingling in their throats). When I asked to speak with the manager he told me he was the owner. He was rude and indignant & debated with me right there by the bar in front of other customers because I said peanuts vs tree nuts. He had the nerve to ask me if that was the only place we had eaten that day which was irrelevant in this situation! As we were needing to ensure our 2 kids were ok in that moment I should NOT have been wasting my time in a back and forth argument with the owner. A simple I'm sorry that happened would have lessened the tension and been a much more appropriate response from an owner!!! He not only debated with me but also my husband and another family member all in front of the other customers. I have never felt the need to leave a review for a restaurant but as I prepare to leave Macon I felt the need to publicly let others know about my experience! Suffice it to say I will NEVER return to this restaurant!Signed,Angry Mother!

I want to thank our server, Erika, for taking excellent care of us. We had a wonderful meal: trout for one of us, the Ribeye for another, and I had Elk. The sides were all cooked to perfection, too: crunchy and flavorful vegetables, creamy grits, mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. We started the evening with a cheese plate appetizer and medallions. They were excellent, and there was enough for the three of us to share. We ended the evening with the ice cream cake. After the copious starters and the main courses, we shared that also. The old-world charm of the restaurant was as we expected and warmed us on this cold winter evening.

Second time eating here - so yummy! We are new years - My steak was under cooked - but they quickly fixed it.

My wife and I arrived a little after 5, were seated right away, and our waitress came right over. She took our drink and appetizer order and brought this within 5-10 minutes. We ordered our food around 5:45, sat back and enjoyed our cheese platter and a bottle of wine. We continued to watch as larger tables around us, that were seated after us, got their food and enjoyed their meal. It was obvious to our waitress that we are getting worried about time. My wife and I had tickets to an event at 7:30, and we believed two hours for dinner would be plenty of time. She never came back to the table to explain any delays or to check on us. Around 7:00, my wife finally got her attention, and asked what was going on. She said that the manager told the kitchen to push the larger tables to get them out of here, leaving the smaller parties paying the price with delays. We asked her to cancel the meal, because we wouldn't have time to enjoy it. She apologized as my wife went to find the manager at the bar. The manager showed no interest in speaking with my wife. He continued to make drinks and serve others as she was trying to speak to him. She even said that it seemed like he didn't care about what she had to say, and his only response was, "I'm really busy." The worst part of the whole night was not that we didn't get to eat, it was the dismissal of a manager of an establishment that we have been going to for over fifteen years. It's very embarrassing that he is associated with this establishment.

One of the best steaks I've had. Seriously, I ordered the fillet with lobster and I didn't need the lobster. The steak was perfectly done. Charred on the outside a perfect medium rare on the in -- and so tender. The appetizers were great. Actually, one was a great surprise. Shrimp (blackened) with grits (waffle). I gave it a try and I was happy that I did! The chef had a great night when we were there. That's all I can say. I am picky and usually don't leave reviews but I have to. The staff from chef to server to valet knocked it out of the park. Would I go back again? Absolutely! Would I recommend the restaurant? Absolutely. Will I ask for the gentleman that served our table? *Waves at Andrew* Yes, I would! This establishment has an old-world vibe and reminds me of some of the speakeasy fab I used to seek out in city centers when I was younger. Of course, back then I could only afford drinks at the front of the house - not so now. If you love cozy atmosphere, comfortable seating with an upscale bar offering - this might be for you. Did I mention that they valet park? They do. Right at the door, how great is that? This turned out to be a really nice evening out without the worry or hassle of rushing to park, or to leave our table too soon. Thanks Downtown grill! Your food and staff are wonderful!
