Second time driving from Henry Co just to eat at The Rookery! Totally worth the 1 hour drive! Some of our favorites are the Solid Gold Soul Rolls and the Jimmy Carter. We tried the Fried Mushrooms, the Big O, the Onion Rings, and the Chicken Tenders on this visit. 10/10 recommend!
I was recently in the Macon area on business with a colleague and it was recommended that we go downtown to The Rookery. I had a great experience, and a big part of that was thanks to our waiter, Travis. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing.

Absolutely amazing!!!! Food was outstanding in all regards. Every dish! The service was the best I’ve experienced in years.
The Moonhanger Group in Macon is known for its popular restaurant, where customers can enjoy excellent food and drinks at affordable prices. The Rookery, a top contender in the town's best hamburger event, offers a variety of unique and delicious burgers, such as the Greek burger and the one with fried apples, Gouda cheese, and green pepper. Although the milkshakes, particularly the vanilla one, are popular, there might be limited flavors available. The onion rings and pork chops are also worth trying. The knowledgeable and friendly bartender, Kyle, adds to the great vibe of the restaurant. Despite occasional shortages in some menu items, the food, including their burgers and adult milkshakes, receive positive feedback from the customers.
