Absolutely amazing!!!! Food was outstanding in all regards. Every dish! The service was the best I’ve experienced in years.

We were disappointed. Burgers tasted like a frozen patty...certainly not what we were expecting. Rather skimpy on the toppings. The battered fries were soggy and not hot.

Macon has a great event for the popular restaurants to compete for the best hamburgers in town. Some 20 plus restaurants present a new burger not on their menu. The Rookery is usually a top contender but this year fell short. It featured fried apples, Gouda cheese and bits of green pepper. It was not objectionable and I should have gotten one of their regular burgers with onions, mushrooms and bacon. Still the had a great lunch crowd.

There are two bars in this establishment. The bar on the right had the rudest bartender that we’ve ever had. He was a white male. We ended up walking out & will never return

Worth coming in for at least a cocktail made by Kyle ….he’s no nonsense and knowledgeable. He makes it happen and gets how to treat a customer. I come here once a month for work…only place I eat… burgers are awesome onion rings off the chain milk shakes…adult milkshakes….but lately been on the pork chop wagon. All the food I have had has been excellent.. CoL vibe great food and drinks and affordable. Great experience

Had a large group and went early. Plenty of room in the side annex. Burgers are fantastic! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!!

Great spot in Downtown Macon on Cherry Street. Great menu, with some unique sandwiches and other items. You won't be disappointed!

We stopped in for lunch based on the reviews. I had the Greek burger off the special board. It was delicious. I would definitely get it again. Everyone else at the table was happy with their food as well. Only downside was that they were out of the first two things my son ordered. My son was excited about their milkshakes but they were out of vanilla ice cream so we were limited to a few milkshakes they make using chocolate ice cream. I had a chocolate shake and it was ok not great.

In town for a show and heard good things about this place. It had a great appearance and vibe. The menu was promising and there were some hits, but also misses. Drinks—ginger beer came in a tiny can (but cost the same as other drinks) so I wish I’d known to get anything else. Milkshakes were good though. Pimiento cheese appetizer was really great, except that out food came out 60 seconds later and made table space a nightmare. (We ordered the app with drinks as soon as we sat down, well before we ordered food.) Burgers were great. Buffalo Chicken sandwich was a little sad as it wasn’t very saucy and had NO toppings. Fried Green tomato sandwich had ONE tomato on it (so it was dwarfed by the bun and toppings)—mainly tasted like bread. Pickle spears were referenced on the menu but didn’t come on the plate. Last but not least, the bathrooms were totally trashed. Not sure I’d come back.

Really good burgers served by Charles, a great server. Generous size portions with quality ingredients. Marbled Rye for Patty Melt was very flavorful and not dry.

My wife and I ate there after the Uber guy recommended the restaurant to us. It’s got a unique character inside very rustic looking and had a good vibe to it. As for the food I had the hamburger that was the black and blue version with the blue cheese, which I thought was very good and my wife had one of their salads. I thought the food was good for the price. I didn’t think it was the best hamburger I ever had but it was good. I also had their onion rings, which were mediocre. I do recommend getting one of their milkshakes because you can do it as an add on to the meal for just a couple dollars. Overall, I thought the food was good. I gave it a four-star rating mainly because for the price ($15) I would expect a great burger.

The Rookery had a nice variety of menu options. The James Brown burger was fantastic! My mother got the chicken salad wrap but said it was extremely bland (of course, taste and likes vary for people) - the dimly lit environment added for a nice ambiance. Andrew, our waiter, was great! Super nice, quick and knowledgeable about menu items and best sellers. Parking (closely) is metered so be prepared for that.

We had wonderful food here, but that is just the start. Our wonderful waitress recommended the steak sandwich with auju on the side, and not was she right. The chicken sandwich was so tasty. We had to leave early, so the waitress bagged everything up quickly and was so sweet about it. She was the joy of the restaurant. Great food.... great service.... great location!!!!

Great food as always! Had the French Dip Sandwich and coated fries! Excellent! I usually hit this place when I am in town for a few days! Got to sit outside today in the wonderful warm weather.

I came with my family to this restaurant because it had a great rating in TripAdvisor, but our experience was more than we expected. I don’t even know where to start. To organize myself I’ll start from the beginning. The moment we walked in we notice the restaurant was completely full and just when we though we were going to have to wait the young guy at the front asked us for “how many?” I told him 4 and he walked us thru a side door right into another large room but much quieter with only 2 tables full. The first thing I though was there is no way these waiters are going to remember we are in here, but I was wrong, it didn’t take 3 mins when Michael came to our table to take our order. Michael was on point. He gave us verbally the list of specials and answer any questions we had about the menu. My wife asked for some recommendations for beer and he asked her a few questions and recommended a great beer. It was delicious and it was ice cold!! My wife had the chicken salad sandwich and he recommend the blt. My sandwich had a fried green tomato. I never had that before but he was right the sandwich was delicious. My wife told him the chicken salad in the sandwich was a little sweet and she is not a fan of sweet food. Mike asked her if she liked spicy food which she loves and he brought her some crystal hot sauce. He was so right. That sauce was perfect with the chicken salad sandwich. My kids had the burgers and my 5 year old son and 12 year old daughter ate every bite. The place is good but I think the experience was amazing and I’m positive that was all Michael. His recommendations were on point, extremely polite and knowledgeable of the beers and menu. I will ask for him again next time for sure.
