“The Best Pizza in GA. We took a road trip to North Carolina recently and took the long way home in order to bypass ATL traffic. On our return trip, we made a detour in order to visit Madison, GA which may be one of the friendliest little towns in GA, or the USA for that matter. It's a beautiful little town full of old . It reminds me of Senoia, GA before it was ruined by ATL sprawl-big city ugliness... all paid for by big money, but that is a different story. We are talking about the best pizza in GA with allowance for best pizza being subjective... my and my wife's taste buds going back over quite a few years now. I first saw the town and sampled Amici's margherita pizza and salad quite a few years ago on a motorcycle ride with friends. It was a memorable lunch at Amici's. I have judged every new pizza restaurant and home-made margherita pizza against that pizza ever since then. The memory of that day still hold, the pizza was absolutely delicious and their new Caesar salad was great too! It is definitely worth a trip to Madison to see the beautiful little town's homes and shops and to sample the best pizza in GA. Give it a try sometime. It's an excellent day trip getaway. Nestled just an hour east of Atlanta, Madison is a Southern gem where oak-lined streets and antebellum architecture whisper stories of grace and grit. It’s a town that feels like a living postcard—walkable, welcoming, and rich with character. And right in the heart of it all is Amici. Before it became Madison’s living room in the beautifully restored livery stable on West Washington Street, Amici started a few blocks away in a humble storefront on South Main - most likely a dry goods store or something similar. That original, cozy little spot served up their legendary pizza, cold brews, and community vibes that made it a local favorite from day one. Today, Amici’s new home (old livery stable) blends rustic charm with modern comforts—exposed brick, live music, and the same signature pies that earned it the title of “best pizza in Georgia.” Whether you remember the old green awning or you’re soaking in the new patio scene, Amici is still serving what Madison does best: good food, good people, and a whole lot of heart. And on our walk to the new place after parking near downtown, every single person we met was smiling, saying hi and just being the most welcoming folks you could ever meet. Sort of like a GA Mayberry, USA. While researching the place on the internet, I found they have 12 locations in total. I am told each spot carries the same spirit: New York-style pizza, wings, pasta, cold beer, and live music, all served with a side of Southern hospitality. Some locations even have event rooms or patios for live performances and community gatherings.“
