Fabulous dinner in a English pub atmosphere. Great staff. Prompt and friendly service. We started with a Roast Pork Cheek Tartine. The chef mistakenly make a Fava Bean and Radish Tartine that was on last weeks menu, so we received it also on the house. Hubby's Guinness was properly served. Fish and chips were perfectly prepared. There large fish filet was light, and not greasy. The chips were the best steak fries I've ever had. The "from the sea" special was 3 large pan-seared sea scallops with polenta, shitake mushrooms in a brown gravy and a black garlic jus. Each scallop was 3 or 4 bites and was plenty for me. I wish we had room for dessert but we were both so full. We were traveling so discovering the restaurant was purely a very happy accident. Highly recommend to anyone, but maybe not families with small children.

I ordered a half a salad with vinaigrette, salad portion was small for the price. I ordered the fish and chips, was ok but with no seasonings in the fish. My wife ordered the hamburger which was burnt around the edges. The waitress seemed to be pushing an alcoholic beverage which we refused.

Ordered the house cheeseburger with handout fries, lamb burger with Brussel sprouts to go. All gorgeous looking, lamb burger every bit the deserved rage people have given it, the cheeseburger also a solid. Handcut fries, great, ketchup pretty standard. Brussels fresh, well cooked, but lacked zing, no real seasoning. Oddly no plastic ware or napkins for a takeout order so made due. Food ready on time.

First time trying to give this place a shot for New Years Eve dinner. Very disappointing 3 course meal. Only ate 3 bites of the ribeye as it was tough as leather. They offered me another steak but I declined as I did not want to wait for the chef to try and make a do over.
Get it right the first time. No one wants to wait for a new steak when you’re paying that price. Very disappointed as new Morgan county owner/resident. May be a good place for bar food but at this point I am not sure I will take that chance.

The food was very good, but the portions were way to small for the price.

While the food at Hart & Crown Tavern was good and the bartender provided friendly service, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the host, a rather stout lady with curly hair and glasses, who was less than welcoming. She informed us that their “policy” doesn’t allow two people to sit in a booth when they’re busy, yet we watched a couple be seated in a booth right after her comment. It certainly raises questions about how strictly that policy is enforced.
I wish I had caught her name, as her dismissive demeanor set a negative tone for our evening. We ultimately chose to sit at the bar, where the service was satisfactory, but the initial interaction left much to be desired. It’s unfortunate, as the food and the bartender were wonderful; a more thoughtful approach to customer service would truly enhance the experience. A little warmth and kindness can make all the difference.

Great spot, great food and drink. Get there early if you want a table. We had salmon and the hanger steak which came with fries that reminded me of Steak ‘n Shake. Very expensive for what you get but everything was delicious.

Please double strain your cocktails!!! Every time I’m here the ice chips in my drink ruin the experience.
But the burgers are definitely the best in town!

Saturday lunch, busy, but not overwhelmed. After taking our order, we never saw our waitress again. Food was delivered after 30+ minutes by a different waiter. Never got a water refill or check on our meal. Finally asked the dude who served the food to find our check and see if our waitress was still working. A third person delivered the check, asked how our meal was, we told them the total lack of service, their response was sort of oh, well.
The burger was maybe a 4, the endive salad was way overdressed.
I suspect there are better places to get lunch in Madison.

We loved this little gem of a restaurant. We called and got a recording so just showed up. It was busy, but the host offered to seat us outside or to wait 15 min. We had a drink while we waited. Our server was great and our food was delicious!
