It's been over a year now, but your service toward Jeff Gray is still earning you 1 star reviews. If he's not welcome, no one will be.Wheelchair accessibility: You'll probably be told to leave if you're not an "upstanding citizen"

I had heard about the Chophouse for a few years now but had never had the time to make the trek down there as it is close to a hour from my home. Friday night we took our daughter out for her 25th birthday and for me it left much to be desired. I had the prime rib which is my all time favorite dish at any restaurant that I patron. If prime rib is on the menu then that is what I am having. I was served a salad with thousand island dressing. It was excellent! The lettuce was fresh, everything I did NOT want on the salad was left off just like I requested it to be. In fact, I would venture to say it was one of the best house salads I had ever received with regard to freshness and dressing taste. That starter made me excited for the prime rib to come. I received my prime rib along with a loaded baked potato. The potato followed the lead of the salad--nothing short of excellent! Then I saw the prime rib. It was a 12 ounce prime rib but honestly I have saw waffle house steaks that were thicker and juicier. I was very disappointed in the appearance. I had ordered it medium and received it medium well, more heavy on the well. The flavor was "ok"...not horrid but definitely not prime rib quality. It honestly tasted more like a medium well cooked ribeye. Was it bad enough that it couldn't be consumed, no it wasn't. However, it, along with the other two prime ribs that were ordered, wasn't worth the $185 I ended up spending on the four meals. I was thoroughly disappointed. I will say though, a pleasant highlight of the restaurant was the service. Our server was attentive, quickly retrieved any items we asked for and refilled our drinks at just the moment they were empty. Good service in the food industry is hard to find these days but at the Chophouse, from what I observed, each server was extremely attentive to their customers. I never write off a restaurant with just one visit. Maybe Friday night was an "off" night for them. Maybe they had call outs that made tending to the food while it cooked more of a rush job. In any case, I will give it a try at some point again however, if the food is average like it was on Friday night, I probably won't be visiting again.

Great place to eat ? found it by total accident while passing through. Over the top service and food was excellent ? Take time after the meal to wander the square. Wow only one empty building. All small towns need to follow their business model.Parking: On both sides of the street . People so friendly observing the cross walk.

I have gotten a better steak at Applebee's. Dog shit food. At least they are open to hiring developmentally disabled people because that could be the only excuse for the absolute travesty that they passed off for a plate of food and the reply from the Manager that 'there is no finer steak in Georgia'. This negative review excludes our wonderful waitress, she was embarrassed for the food and the managers reply, but had no say in the matter. I hope you find a better job somewhere else where your skills are appreciated. Hard pass unless you are looking for food for your pet.

While traveling to Augusta we have stopped a number of times in Madison GA. Today we stopped to have lunch at the Madison Chop House Grill. It was a late lunch 1:30 ish. My Wife ordered the Chophouse steak and I ordered Burger and Fried Green Tomato's. I was informed by our waitress Emma that they where all out of Fried Green Tomato's so I ordered fries. At the same time 3 local folks seated at the table next to our also ordered Fried Green Tomato's To my surprise Emma did not inform them of the shortage, but instead placed their order. Our food arrived with my fries and minutes later the local guests at the table next to us food arrived, and guess what Fried Green Tomato's. I called Emma over and questioned why we couldn't order Fried Green Tomato's and she said they just came in. Strange that literally within minutes the magical Tomato's appeared. She didn't offer us an option to place an order, she just walked away. Moral of the story: Fried Green Tomato's are reserved for the locals!!

Had a date night with my wife, and everything was absolutely delicious and amazing! Definitely will be returning. Pork chops both fried and grilled were excellent, shrimp and grits phenomenal. Fried green tomatoes were probably some of the best I ever had. Bang Bang Shrimp excellent as well along with the fried pickles!!
