Cheddar Cheese Bagel with Cream Cheese was decent, but the Bagel with Egg Salad is a must-try! 🥯🥚 The owner is super friendly, and even though the shop is small and run by just three people, they offer a wide variety of bagels at reasonable prices. No phone reservations, so plan accordingly! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow,what a disappointment. I've not been here in awhile and was craving a good Jersey bagel. I'm not sure what's happened but this went in the trash. I noticed the bagels in the bin all looked very light but I was engaged in conversation with the owner. 2 bucks for a bagel,I asked for toasted, light butter, $4 bucks. I even commented,he said butter went up,yes, agreed but not as high as eggs and waffle house is charging.50 cents extra. 2 bucks was even too much for this very raw bagel. Very few sesame seeds and flat like a pancake. It was not toasted and tasted awful. The place was empty at lunch time and look like it has not been cleaned in years. 30 years in business, may be time to hang it up
Surely he could not think this is a good bagel.
I was just getting out of my car to go back in when 2 customers walked in and I honestly did not want to embarrass him. Then he came out and I got his attention and showed him what I just paid 4 bucks for
He was ok with what he sold me,he said the girl didn't toast it enough and that's how he makes them , raw?
He offered to replace it, offered a drink or danish,no thanks, what he did not offer was my 4 bucks back.
He said he makes them like that because old people can't struggle to bite hard bagels. I've never had hard bagels. He said he wasn't for me,a good bagel is pretty much the same wherever good bagels are sold. He told me to go to Arts or Sonny's. I've been to both, good authentic bagels. I told him I'd been to him before and this was not what I've gotten. He said he works hard and when I said it was a rip off he said no.
I handed him my bag with bagel,he took it and as he walked back in the shop he threw it over the fence into the ground....that spoke volumes for the filthy inside. He said he does great, well not during lunch time.

Not sure where all the good reviews are coming from.
The place was dirty, the bagels were the worst I’ve literally ever tasted and they microwaved everything..the employees were as lack luster as the bagels.
I really should have turned around and ran when I saw the place but I was too hungry.
The best way I can describe the bagel I had was it tasted like doughy plastic with a weird aftertaste on the eggs because they were microwaved in plastic.

Please don’t go, I wish I could turn back time and get a refund and run!

George is so funny. The bagels have been great here as long as I can remember. Try the open face NY style on your favorite flavor bagel and you can't go wrong. Unless you don't like smoked salmon. But that is a personal problem. Ha.

Bagels are fluffy with generous amounts of cream cheese. Delicious NY style bagels!! Had a toasted scallion schmear and a salmon cream cheese everything bagel.

The owners were really nice and greeting their regulars by name.

Great place for a great bagel. I called and they did not pick up, but they called me back and I placed my pickup order for my branch. I am no native northeasterner, but I work with guys from Brooklyn and Long Island and they said this was top notch. Nice soft bread and excellent cream cheese variety.

Good for a quick, basic breakfast sandwich. The service is not what I’d call friendly or accurate. I felt rushed on the phone and that was apparent when I ordered Swiss instead of American on one of my sandwiches and got home to find that was not listened to.

I have been going to this location for almost 20 years, the location is consistent and they know me by my first name. I grew up on Long Island and these are the closest bagels I can find to home and what I grew up with. Very personable and clean. Pasta salad is also very good

I tried Hoboken Bread & Bagel for the first time today, since it's very near to where I am now working. First, it's an odd little shop; it's a place to come in, order your food, and then leave with it. No problem with that, but upon entering I was immediately engaged with whom I assume was the owner, and he immediately upsold me to a full sandwich with a side and "fresh" iced tea. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was happy and gracious. A bit expensive, but that's how things are these days. I recommend.
