Katana Sushi & Hibachi

Great local, reasonably priced Sushi and Hibachi. :) Fantastic lunch menu (Monday through Saturday) specials in terms of pricing and quality. Great selection of vegetables with teriyaki entrees.

Vegetarian options: Tofu and vegetables. You can order based on preferences.

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. I was disappointed at this place because I expected so much more with all their billboards around East Cobb. I was looking for hibachi in a hurry and popped in with my daughter. The hostess outside was nice and lead us in but as soon as we sat our waiter was clearly working on his day off. He was not friendly, proactive or didn't bother asking if we needed refills or if the food was good. Which is wasn't... Nothing had a lot of flavor. I had Steak and Shrimp Hibachi with both soup and salad. Pretty standard hibachi order. My nine year old daughter got her own hibachi steak with white rice. Kids don't get any soup or salad with their order. I asked Sunshine for some kids chop sticks and he made a face like he had to wittle them in the back first. The miso soup was lacking any sense of dashi in the broth. It was bland and the tiny tofu was hard so it was probably old and watered down. The salad was tiny and had too much watery ginger dressing soaking it. The flavor of the dressing was good in spite of being a bad consistency. They gave me a ton of vegetables which I loved and it tasted fine. Kind of like grilling on a flat top in an airbnb when you are missing all your seasonings. Fried rice had crunchy vegetables and they didn't use any sesame oil or anything. I had to add soy sauce like I was getting takeout. The steak was underdone and tough at the same time. My daughter got medium vs my medium rare and she was complaining about all the chewing she had to do in order to swallow the steak. She's never complained about steak being tough anywhere, not even the one time I took her to Golden Corral. I would try it again during a busier time just to give them another shot but based on what I experienced, won't have my hopes up.

They are generally quick on getting your order out. Although it is not classic hibachi; you can see in my photos that there were few shrimp seared well. There was a strange taste to the oils they used for cooking overall. I wasn't a huge fan.

I also don't think they have great cleanliness. There was a small cockroach on the booth we were sitting at.

Service is good though. Substitutions for salad/soup pick on the hibachi dinner entrees are allowed. If you would like to move to another seat, they are flexible.

Really good sushi in East Cobb. And the plating is cute. Something that is slowly going by the wayside at other places. I drive 30 mins to eat here. And Maxine is the best! <3

Went last night for the first time with the family: 4 adults, 2 kids. The dumplings, edamame, salad , egg rolls and one roll was good. The hibachi, the kids rolls and two adult rolls were not. The avocado was black. The water tasted awful. Also, the place stunk because they were doing construction next door. General consensus was we do not want to return. The positives: the waiter was great! Place had a nice atmosphere. I don’t understand how it got a 4.8. I should be 4 at best.

I had a belated birthday/anniversary celebration here last night. It was my first time dining at Katana and the experience was incredible! Our server, Maxine, was extremely pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent and exceeded my expectations. I was even surprised with a lovely birthday dessert that was absolutely delicious! This is a now local favorite restaurant for me.

We had dinner here for the first time tonight. It was absolutely delicious. We had the M16 Roll, Spicy Girl Roll, and the Chattanooga Roll. Jimmy was our waiter and he was very engaging and took care of us. We can’t wait to go back.

Parking: Katana is in the Merchant Exchange Shopping Center by the new Longhorn. Parking is not an issue.

I ate here today for the first time with my girlfriend. Katana has a beautiful environment & you can tell everyone there enjoys working there. We ordered the Hamachi Kama appetizer, Shogun roll and Crispy Dragon roll. 10/10 this is the best sushi in Georgia ?

Incredible sushi! The other sushi places in the area have some serious new competition! Love that they have 50+ rolls to choose from. Tons of great creations!

My husband and I went for lunch the other day and to our surprise they had a sushi special for either two or three rolls with a soup or salad! It was our first time here and the atmosphere is very inviting and clean! The staff was friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be going back because the food was amazing! The sushi was fresh and scrumptious.!!!
