“7/29 update:
I got in touch with Pokeworks Corporate and they were deeply apologetic about the experience. I really appreciated that. They also offered me a credit for the meal which is what I’d hoped the manager would have considered.

For these reasons, I’m updating this to five stars across the board. I appreciate when a company truly follows through on making things right.

If you’re ordering anything with shrimp and upon physical visual inspection, you realize that the shrimp sticks to the tongs or is unusually mushy? Do yourself a favor and order something different.

Ruined my evening with bad shrimp and even worse customer service.

When the associate was putting the shrimp in the bowl, I noticed how unusually mushy and sticky it was. Her response to me was “oh, I grabbed it too hard. That’s why.“

Cue me 10 minutes later, biting into what I thought was regular shrimp and spitting it out right after. It was watery, mushy and had no flavor.
I was genuinely concerned that the shrimp was not safe to eat.

So I made my way back to the store to let them know. I asked for a refund because I did not trust them remaking my meal with whatever shrimp they currently have that day.

The associate I spoke to texted the manager, and her response was “the issue has been acknowledged, but because you walked out with your food, there is no refund and no remake.”

You acknowledge that your shrimp is not in good condition, but you’re not going to make it right and I’m out of money and out of dinner.“

“I gave this place 5 stars because it's usually excellent, and I've consistently had positive experiences here. The only reason I'm mentioning this is because the new young woman working the front desk on 8/3 wasn't very welcoming. She spoke very little, didn't greet or engage with customers, and mostly just stared, which came across as unfriendly. I hope this was just an off day, because the rest of the staff and my experiences here have always been great.“
