Our first time here was amazing. The Brown Fig has a wonderful, layed back atmosphere. Both the food and the service was exceptional! This is a great restaurant for a casual meal, or for a great date night!

We were excited to see The Brown Fig come to town and our first two experiences were great. We had been previously told that they don’t accept reservations (another very popular restaurant in our area also does not so that wasn’t super odd to us) We attempted to go there on Valentine’s Day this year and my husband checked their Facebook page to determine if they were doing anything differently and only found the menu for the evening. There were several messages asking if they take reservations with no response. We headed out early to try to get a table. When we parked we saw the line that went from the door to the street and hoped for the best. As we got nearer to the foot we could hear the host asking if they “had reservations” to the group ahead of us… wait, what?? Everyone near us in line also had been discussing how they don’t take reservations so we were all confused… we waited until our turn to speak to the host who told us it would be “a long time for a table without reservations”. We explained how we’d been told they don’t take reservations and he replied-“ it’s all done through Facebook and sometimes you get one and sometimes you don’t” ?That’s no way to run a business. Either take them or don’t- if you’re going to take them- do it properly. If you don’t know how to run reservations properly then let a service handle that for you. (Open Table and Resy are great options)It’s so sad that things went the way they did as this was our favorite spot to eat. The people around us in line felt the same. There are other situations similar to ours on here and Yelp so it wasn’t even an isolated incident… we ended up at San Andres and had a wonderful evening with great service and excellent food!

I don't hand out 5 stars often but this place exceeded my expectations. The service was professionally attentive yet not overbearing. The food was fresh and on point. We showed up on a Saturday night without reservations which was not a good idea. But they still got us in at a reasonable wait time but we showed up with 30 minutes of opening. Make your reservations on their Facebook page and Do not call the phone...that is my only suggestion.
Had a great dinner and experience while sitting at the bar last week. Will be on our normal rotation of places to eat in Monroe!

Such a wonderful surprise. Food was excellent. Small menu- very Greek- not a lot of protein options.... but everything was sooo good. Generous portions and flavor all over the place. The zucchini was fantastic! Flatbread- amazing. Service was quick and attentive? Even though the place was crowded on Friday night.

Literally our favorite date night spot. We love this place so much and would prob eat there multiple times a week if we could. The menu is small but EVERYTHING on it is perfect. The drinks are always amazing and the service is probably the best part of the experience. If you haven't been you are absolutely missing out on a hidden gem!
