“I love the atmosphere, drinks and food. Service was great. It is a bit on the expensive side, however the main dishes are elevated fine dining. I had Seabass marinated in Miso and served with perfectly prepared accoutrement. My wife had the Scallops, with squash puree, delicious. I did not have the more ubiquitous Mexican offerings like the Tacos so I can't comment on those. I have a hard time spending that mush on a Taco , however if the mains were any indication of the preparation I am sure it was elevated. They also have two family style dishes , a chicken and beef birria that I was told can serve 5 or more. That is a good value if you went with your family. I would defiantly give this place a try.“

“I LOVE THIS PLACE!! This is a lovely hole in the wall that has incredible, truly authentic, from scratch Mexican food, and at very reasonable prices! I am in love with both their chicken and pork tamales, which are the size I expect from a tamale (two is enough for a nice meal!) and their al pastor taco was also lovely!

This is a no frills place, so if you want a fancy atmosphere, you'll want to go elsewhere, but I enjoy their home-y decor and they really deliver on the food!

“Just happened to find this place on the way to stone mountain. With Mexican food it can be good or meh. We'll El Torero was very good. We had chicken fajita nachos and they were fantastic. The servers were attentive, the food was hot and delicious and a very large portion. I would definitely return if I was in the area again.“

“It took about 20 years for decent Mexican food to come to Atlanta, but this restaurant is HANDS DOWN the best Mexican food in Atlanta or the metro area. I’ve been all thru their menu and NOTHING disappoints. Authentic, fresh, and cooked to order. And the service is also always so welcoming and friendly. Inside is clean, colorful and represents all the things I love about Mexican culture. I even considered moving to the Oaxaca region because this food is so good! And prices are fair for the value of food you get. Also best birria tacos I’ve had in the city. Usually the consommé taste like nothing, but theirs is so rich and flavorful like consommé should be and it has hominy in it….just MUAHHHH. I would leave a photo but the food is already gone by the time I get home!!“

“My wife and I finally had a chance to visit Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway. We couldn't wait to visit Puras Tortas. They have a diverse selection of tacos that are $0.89 each!We tried the chicken, marinated pork, chorizo, and steak tacos. All were really good and full of flavor. They also have a selection of sauces, but I didn't need any of them. Next time, I want to try some of my adventurous tacos like the beef tongue and pork stomach.Can't wait to come back.
