Far and away the best place to eat in Richmond Hill. Food that punches above its weight and great customer service. Marissa alone has made multiple visits enjoyable. Highly recommend.

One our road trip across America, we happened upon The 5 Spot and were so pleasantly surprised by everything! Marissa, the bartender and our server, was exceptional! She made drinks that rival the Los Angeles drinks I’m used to! She is a gem, and I hope The 5 Spot realizes how lucky they are to have a true bartender! The food was also amazing! The brussel sprouts appetizer was cooked to perfection, and I really enjoyed my fried chicken meal as well!

Food was good southern fare. Salad entree was good. Chicken fried chicken with black pepper gravy was Choice! Collard greens could have been a meal by itself. Mashed potatoes were “rustic” but dry….the gravy and greens helped. Service was great………although, the hostess sat us next another couple when there were 8 Other seats open. I’m not in LA or in Europe…..I don’t want to sit on top on another couple.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the Loaded Mac—it was rich, flavorful, and easily the best thing I ordered. Unfortunately, the Philly cheesesteak (made with chicken instead of steak) was pretty underwhelming and lacked the flavor I was expecting. The waffle fries were good, but they’re still just fries and didn’t really stand out as anything special.
I also ordered a rum punch, and it was incredibly strong. If you’re looking for a stiff drink, you’ll probably be happy, but it was almost overpowering to the point that it tasted more like alcohol than an actual cocktail.
I sat at the bar, and the area could have used some attention. There were signs that it hadn’t been fully cleaned up from previous customers, which wasn’t the best first impression. The bartender was friendly enough, but at times seemed a little irritated or distracted, which made the service feel inconsistent.
