We were seated promptly and I ordered the "homemade" barley beef soup. What a disappointment. There was no way it was "homemade" The beef in it were these rectangular shaped cubes of a mystery meat that was rubbery. the broth was fine. This is the best place to grab some country cooking in the area. Its definitely my favorite place to take my family for breakfast. The owner Wendell is a saint, he is literally the kindest soul ever. Theres also a pretty good chance you'll catch him in the kitchen which says a lot about the place. They have an outdoor patio with an amazing view perfect for nice weather.
We took a quick overnight trip to Helen for our anniversary. My husband’s name is Wendell so we pulled in. It was great a great home style breakfast. We both had the three egg omelette and they were delish. It was so good we went back today again before heading out. We will definitely be back!
