“I don’t even know how to explain this place without sounding dramatic, but Empire Bagel has genuinely ruined all other bagels for me.
I walked in expecting a quick breakfast and walked out questioning every life decision that led me to eat anywhere else before this. The smell alone should be bottled and sold. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the perfect ratio of crispy, fluffy, and slightly greasy in the way that makes you feel like everything is going to be okay.
The bagel itself? Somehow soft and chewy but still had that perfect outer crisp. I don’t know what kind of sorcery they’re doing back there, but they need to keep doing it. Also, whoever made my sandwich clearly cared about their craft because it wasn’t thrown together like most places do—it was built like it mattered.
The staff were super chill too. Not fake nice, just real people who seemed like they actually enjoy working there, which makes a huge difference.
Only downside is now I’m emotionally attached to a bagel shop and will probably go out of my way to come back here way too often.“
