Probably the worst seafood spot in the lowcountry. Food is completely inconsistent and the shrimp taste like old pennies. Such a shame this beautiful location is being wasted on such a disappointing establishment. Go to Erica Davis Lowcountry instead- big portions, reasonably priced and owned by a local Thunderbolt family.

I regret EVER coming in here, I don't usually write reviews but IVE NEVER HATED SOMEWHERE SO MUCH.
The first red flag was the smell—less “fresh ocean breeze” and more “forgotten cooler in the sun.” The menu promised classic seafood favorites, but what arrived felt like a practical joke. The shrimp were rubbery, the fish tasted suspiciously freezer-burned, If this seafood was “fresh,” then so is a gas station sandwich.
Service didn’t help. Our server seemed annoyed by the mere concept of customers and disappeared for long stretches of time, reappearing only to drop off the wrong items or forget basic requests. Water refills felt like a luxury reserved for VIPs.
The atmosphere tried to lean into a coastal vibe, but it came off more like a damp basement with nautical decorations from a dollar store clearance bin. Sticky tables, flickering lights, and music just loud enough to be irritating really completed the experience.
For the prices they charge, you’d expect at least edible food. Instead, Despocitos delivers disappointment on a plate. If you’re craving seafood, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else—or just microwave a frozen fish stick at home. It’ll be cheaper, faster, and almost will certaintly be better.

So I made this reservation for our 23rd wedding anniversary. Received a confirmation number and a notice to let the restaurant know we were still coming. I was sent a "Great, we look forward to seeing you" email. We arrived 10 minutes early; the parking lot was empty, the lights were off and the doors were locked. A note on the door stated that they were closed for a special event... I'm not sure who was having the "special event" since there was not a single human in sight. This was disappointment to say the least. It is obvious that OpenTable does not vet, verify or communicate with the establishments they take reservations for. This was my first time and last time using OpenTable as well as Desposito's Seafood.
Good seafood
Outstanding! What more could you want on a beautiful Mid 70° Sunday. So glad that they reopened newly printed menus great food as usual, and excellent drinks For reasonable prices (Which is hard to find these days).
I read in past reviews. Glad to try it myself and make my own decision.
Happy to be here and happy to be back at Desposito’s. Will make a return visit!

This is a gem. Had some crab legs and shrimp. The shrimp was sweet and battered to perfection. Succotach as a side was very very tasty. We will be back!

I don't know what some of y'all are creating such a fuss about! My experiences at Desposito's have gotten nothing but better. The shrimp basket I just had was awesome. The just puppies were cooked perfect. My Mai Tai was everything you'd expect to set your Sunday afternoon off right. I've been in the wine and Spirits business all my life and know Food and Beverage quite well... I also can tell when there are past disgruntled managers and employees who need to do something else besides try and sully a great place! You should be ashamed of your behavior and intentions.
Every dish that came out of the kitchen had a presentation and flavorthat was far superior to the last regime whi frankly didn't give a crap.
Some times your snow globe gets shook up... chill out. Everything is settling in to place quite nicely here from where I'm currently sitting.

Desposito’s Seafood continues to be one of my absolute favorite spots in Savannah.
Incredibly fresh seafood, generous portions, great prices, and that great view right by the water. The shrimp tacos, fried shrimp, and lobster mac are always perfect, and the staff here consistently treats you like family.
I’m also genuinely thrilled that the trashy, cheap, plastic-tasting chicken and cheese egg rolls have been taken off the menu. The people who are mad they’re gone are the same ones who wear their “nice Sunday jeans” to Applebee’s after church. Their removal makes the entire menu feel cleaner, higher-quality, and more in line with the amazing seafood Desposito’s is known for.
If you want honest Lowcountry seafood done right, this is the place. Highly recommend.
I forgot to take photos because our food was soo amazing!

Was there with a large group of family, most of us from out of town. We'd had a late lunch, so several of us went to the bar and had cocktails and appetizers. The Oysters Rockerfeller and fried shrimp were off the chain delicious! Cocktails were fabulous. Many of us came from Florida, Texas, Kentucky, North and South Carolina for a Family Reunion the next day. We were all raised on the Islands and / or Thunderbolt. Thanks for welcoming such a large group. Service was exceptional. Thanks for welcoming us HOME!

Realizing cold weather was coming, we decided to go to Desposito's after church on Sunday. The shrimp is always our go to, fried or bacon wrapped, with deviled eggs as our appetizer. We love sitting in the outside bar area. The service is always great!
I came in, and there was a mixup with my reservation. It was not the restaurants fault. I took out out on the staff.
Their host walked me back, beautifully. I was HOT. AND, he was a complete professional.
That set the tone for an incredible meal. Everything was fresh. The service was incredible. I think I’ve found a new favorite, local spot.
Spoiler alert: Get the chocolate cake. It’s the best around.

Go. Buy and enjoy. She Crabs soup is some of the best ever! Homemade. The shredded Brussel Sprout salad was incredible too! Very simple and very tasty. Outside and inside seating too.
