Delicious food, great service! We come for lunch and dinner often, we’ve never had a bad experience. 10/10.

We stopped at this restaurant on our way back to Savannah after a long day moving our daughter out of UGA. Traveling through Augusta, we found a couple of options and decided to give this place a try — unfortunately, it turned out to be a big mistake.

To start on a positive note, we arrived a little after 8 p.m. without a reservation, and the staff promptly cleaned off a table and seated us right away. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the experience.

From there, things quickly went downhill. Despite ordering only two small plate appetizers, one Caesar salad, and a filet — with water to drink — it took nearly two hours before we left. We were repeatedly told our food was “on the way,” yet the wait was excessive, especially considering how minimal our order was. By the time the food arrived, we were very hungry and hopeful. Sadly, the quality didn’t come close to justifying either the wait or the $100 bill.

The food was bland and underwhelming — far below average, especially for the prices. My wife took a few bites and stopped eating altogether. Our daughters finished theirs but later compared it to college cafeteria food. Needless to say, none of us left satisfied. In fact, we ended up driving 20 minutes down the road to McDonald’s, which — as unbelievable as it sounds — was a better meal than what we had just paid for.

This may be a decent spot for drinks or for those with low expectations, but if you’re looking for good food and a worthwhile dining experience, I recommend continuing your drive. Unfortunately, this is one stop we won’t be making again — though, as my daughter remarked, “You don’t know what good food is until you’ve had something bad to compare it to.” This was definitely one of those memorable experiences, just not in the way we’d hoped.

🌟 A Culinary Oasis in Waynesboro: Good Day Cafe

If you’re searching for a dining experience that feels like a warm embrace from start to finish, look no further than Good Day Cafe. As someone who visits Waynesboro quarterly, this gem has become my sanctuary—a place where Southern charm meets global flair, and every bite feels like a masterpiece.

The menu is a love letter to epicurean creativity, blending down-home comfort with bold, inventive twists. On day one, I savored the Seared Shrimp & Scallops—a dish so perfectly balanced, it danced between richness and freshness. Day two brought the Ribeye a succulent, flavor-packed triumph that melted like butter. And yes, the legendary Tonkatsu Pork lives up to its reputation (a must-try for first-timers!). But let’s talk dessert: their Key lime pie is nothing short of divine, with a tangy-sweet crescendo that I crave long after leaving.

Beyond the food, Good Day Cafe is an *oasis*. Tucked away like a well-kept secret, its cozy, eclectic ambiance invites you to unwind—a respite from the everyday hustle. The attention to detail in every dish’s plating mirrors the care they pour into the entire experience, making it feel like a true “home away from home.”

Consistently exceptional, endlessly inviting—this is more than a restaurant. It’s a destination for foodies, a haven for comfort-seekers, and a reason to fall in love with Southern hospitality all over again. I’d recommend Good Day Cafe to anyone, anytime, without hesitation Treat yourself—you’ll leave planning your next visit before you’ve even left the parking lot. 🥧✨

This is one of the Best restaurants I have ever found...Priced similarly to a Longhorns, but the taste and quality of each entree at Good Day Cafe far exceeds in taste and quality.

Just went for the dessert, but it was a very pleasant experience and the dessert which combined caramel, chocolate, fudge and pecans, topped with whipped cream, was heavenly! If the rest of their menu is of this quality, it is certainly worth another visit.

Eat lunch here multiple times a week with my wife most weeks. Really solid spot for sandwiches, burgers, and salads. I've had almost everything on the lunch menu and liked everything. Haven't had the chance to come in for dinner for dinner yet, but the menu looks really nice. I'm sure I'll have dinner here one of these days. Cajun turkey club, chicken caesar wrap, and the BLT are my go to. The tonkatsu pork is a great little appetizer to share or eat alone. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Can get busy at lunch time. If you're in a rush I suggest going right at 11AM when they open before the lunch rush starts. A lot of locals haven't tried here which always surprises me. Highly recommend.

Came to this place to meet a friend halfway between Savannah and where she lives. Stopped here due to the reviews and to try something new. I ordered the Grouper Po-Boy with the potato salad. We started off with the fried shrimp. My wife ordered the BLT with sweet potato fries. Then we ordered the creme brulee and chocolate carmel brownie. The overall food was excellent, and the atmosphere was great as well. It really had the southern charm that you would hope to have in a small town restaurant. It's also worth noting that the food was quite affordable as well!

Here are my ratings:

Fried Shrimp 10:10
Tarter Sauce 10:10
Grouper Po-Boy 8:10 ( mostly good but had a few bites that were fishy)
BLT 10:10
Potato Salad 7:10 ( it was pretty good, but it actually reminded me of the yellow mustard potato salad you can buy in a container)
Sweet Potato Fries 10:10
Creme Brulee 10:10
Chocolate Brownie 8:10
