Food was excellent đ. Service not so good. The one waitress couldn't keep up . Our drinks weren't ever refilled. It took us forever to order . It wasn't her fault but we won't be returning.

This place is a treasure and should be protected at all costs. Our waiter was Parker. He was very kind and attentive. He made us feel instantly welcome, and ensured we had everything we needed. I believe we met one of the Chef's as we were leaving, and although I didn't catch his name, he was very kind and nice. The overall vibe of this restaurant is relaxing, and aside from the amazing service, the food is spectacular. Everything everyone at the table ordered was perfectly cooked and seasoned and I know because I tasted it all! I'm someone who appreciates well seasoned food, and the food here hits that mark and then blows your mind as well. The flavor profiles are layered and the dishes are paired nicely with sides complimenting main pieces of the dishes perfectly. We were just passing through town, and we live about an hour away, but I'm telling you, I'll drive an hour to eat here again.

Waitress was a little overwhelmed but still positive
Delicious food, great service! We come for lunch and dinner often, weâve never had a bad experience. 10/10.

We stopped at this restaurant on our way back to Savannah after a long day moving our daughter out of UGA. Traveling through Augusta, we found a couple of options and decided to give this place a try â unfortunately, it turned out to be a big mistake.
To start on a positive note, we arrived a little after 8 p.m. without a reservation, and the staff promptly cleaned off a table and seated us right away. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the experience.
From there, things quickly went downhill. Despite ordering only two small plate appetizers, one Caesar salad, and a filet â with water to drink â it took nearly two hours before we left. We were repeatedly told our food was âon the way,â yet the wait was excessive, especially considering how minimal our order was. By the time the food arrived, we were very hungry and hopeful. Sadly, the quality didnât come close to justifying either the wait or the $100 bill.
The food was bland and underwhelming â far below average, especially for the prices. My wife took a few bites and stopped eating altogether. Our daughters finished theirs but later compared it to college cafeteria food. Needless to say, none of us left satisfied. In fact, we ended up driving 20 minutes down the road to McDonaldâs, which â as unbelievable as it sounds â was a better meal than what we had just paid for.
This may be a decent spot for drinks or for those with low expectations, but if youâre looking for good food and a worthwhile dining experience, I recommend continuing your drive. Unfortunately, this is one stop we wonât be making again â though, as my daughter remarked, âYou donât know what good food is until youâve had something bad to compare it to.â This was definitely one of those memorable experiences, just not in the way weâd hoped.
Hidden gem!
đ A Culinary Oasis in Waynesboro: Good Day Cafe
If youâre searching for a dining experience that feels like a warm embrace from start to finish, look no further than Good Day Cafe. As someone who visits Waynesboro quarterly, this gem has become my sanctuaryâa place where Southern charm meets global flair, and every bite feels like a masterpiece.
The menu is a love letter to epicurean creativity, blending down-home comfort with bold, inventive twists. On day one, I savored the Seared Shrimp & Scallopsâa dish so perfectly balanced, it danced between richness and freshness. Day two brought the Ribeye a succulent, flavor-packed triumph that melted like butter. And yes, the legendary Tonkatsu Pork lives up to its reputation (a must-try for first-timers!). But letâs talk dessert: their Key lime pie is nothing short of divine, with a tangy-sweet crescendo that I crave long after leaving.
Beyond the food, Good Day Cafe is an *oasis*. Tucked away like a well-kept secret, its cozy, eclectic ambiance invites you to unwindâa respite from the everyday hustle. The attention to detail in every dishâs plating mirrors the care they pour into the entire experience, making it feel like a true âhome away from home.â
Consistently exceptional, endlessly invitingâthis is more than a restaurant. Itâs a destination for foodies, a haven for comfort-seekers, and a reason to fall in love with Southern hospitality all over again. Iâd recommend Good Day Cafe to anyone, anytime, without hesitation Treat yourselfâyouâll leave planning your next visit before youâve even left the parking lot. đ„§âš
