I remove a star for value - the ice cream is good but not worth the price to me. Toppings seem quite pricey as well. I remove another star for unreliability. The risk of them being unexpectedly closed is too high for me or my family to drive to it during their business hours.
With that, if you have plenty of money and you happen to be near by, then I would suggest trying it. It could be a pleasant experience.
Cast Iron Creamery is a charming little ice cream shop tucked into a beautiful turn‑of‑the‑century corner building in downtown Winder.
Now, my cardiologist and dietitian have made it very clear I’m not supposed to eat here—but they said nothing about bringing my grandchildren. And truth be told, watching them enjoy it brings me more joy than anything I could order myself.
Highly recommended… just maybe don’t tell my doctors.
I went there over the weekend with my kids and it was by far the best ice cream I have ever had around here. It was smooth and nothing too sweet the texture of the ice cream was amazing, I had mine with a waffle and the waffle was perfection.

The ice cream was delicious but one thing I do have to say is the people who were preparing the ice cream their friends who came in I doubt they work there went behind the counter trying the ice cream making their own waffles and going in the back

First off YUM, this place hit the spot coming from spending the day at Fort Yargo. They had some interesting flavors which we loved, appreciated we were able to try before we settled, such a cute place!
