“Food is always great, and it’s tough to beat the atmosphere (especially during spring and fall). Service as far as efficiency is top notch. For the most part, employees are friendly and do well at handling the nonstop business. Unfortunately, there are at least two (full-time/regular) employees that are quite rude and unpleasant. It is clear that the customer’s presence alone is an inconvenience. Other than that, all around great spot for any Athens residents and visitors.“

“Food is really good. They’re are large portions. It was a little hard to find because there was lots of other restaurants near it. Parking was paid street parking, and I had to drive around for a little bit to find parking. It’s in a college town though so this is understandable. Service is good, workers are nice.

“This is one of the best, if not the best, Mexican restaurants I have ever been to, and I have been to dozens. Food is always packed with flavor, empanadas are crispy and flaky, and the barbacoa is amazing. The salsa, guacamole, and additional salsas they give you are perfection. Would eat here every day if I had the money.“

“The assistant manager working there was absolutely amazing !! She was so helpful with our group in giving recommendations on what to do in the area. They have a cute little outdoor area with mini golf and seating. The food wasn’t bad I got just the steak quesadilla nothing special about it. Everyone else really enjoyed their food! We went around 3 so no one else was there so the food was super quick.“

“Not sure of his name, but he has slightly shaggy hair. He was in the middle of finishing up someone else's order. He let us know it would be just a minute and then thanked us for waiting. Totally unnecessary, but very kind. He took our order today and made them to perfection. Super nice guy. Give him a raise!“

The restaurant was empty when we arrived on a Friday night around 9 pm.
We brought a family member that had never eaten there and they enjoyed the food and atmosphere

“The Chipotle sauce was more spicy than others, beware. I like a little kick in my food, I almost threw it away. It was way too spicy for me.

“I am a South Georgia girl who has been waiting for the Athens, GA location to open. Let me just say that the workers at the Athens location were AMAZING!! I was so excited to eat Surcheros again, but now I can’t wait for a chance to dine in with them! I am almost positive I was greeted by every person working and they all were so cheery and had smiles on their faces. This is definitely an environment I want to eat in and people I want to talk to! Already planning my next stop in and maybe I’ll get all of my northern friends to tag along so that I can show them how us South Georgia folk do it!😋“

Use the app to hack the menu, e.g. order the value menu "Cheesy Double Beef Burrito," and upgrade it with added Steak, Black Beans, and Pico De Gallo, and request it Grilled. Turns it into a HUGE crispy, delicious burrito at only $5.50. Upgrade the Chicken Enchilada Burrito with Pico and get it grilled and it is WAY better.“

“Great food and service! I had the chicken fajitas and they were cooked to perfection. The kids meals were big enough to feed my boys who border on ordering adult meals. Best Mexican food I’ve had recently!“
