“I absolutely love Ahi and have gone for years, but they went above and beyond this Sunday. I took a group of kids to eat at Ahi (over 20 people) and we were served quickly and kindly. They took our group with stride, which was very impressive. I would recommend them for their food regardless, but the kind and consistent service is commendable as well.”

“Royal Peasant is located near Five Points, south of UGA. There is street parking in the area or you can park at the Fire Station for two hours.

This is a good English pub. They have done a great job of decorating the inside, giving it that genuine feel. And the server was attentive and answered questions well. The food dragged it down in my rating. My daughter had the lamb vindaloo, which came with very little lamb but lots of rice and sauce. I had the Bangers and Mash, which was presented very well but the bangers weren’t top notch. It may have been the turmeric in the cabbage, now that I think about it. My wife had the Royale with Cheese, which was cooked correctly and tasted like… a burger. So it goes.

I will say that the Korean BBQ pork belly starter was great! I highly recommend it.

All that aside- for Athens, this is probably the best English Pub experience you will get! I may return in the future to give it a second try.

One thing I noticed: the outside was heavily populated by students, while the inside was populated by non-student (adult) locals. And the inside people hung out rather than eat and run. That says something!”
