The BBQ may be what they are known for, but the burger is the best around this little community especially at the price you would pay for a frozen pre-made patty at fast food!”

“Royal Peasant is located near Five Points, south of UGA. There is street parking in the area or you can park at the Fire Station for two hours.

This is a good English pub. They have done a great job of decorating the inside, giving it that genuine feel. And the server was attentive and answered questions well. The food dragged it down in my rating. My daughter had the lamb vindaloo, which came with very little lamb but lots of rice and sauce. I had the Bangers and Mash, which was presented very well but the bangers weren’t top notch. It may have been the turmeric in the cabbage, now that I think about it. My wife had the Royale with Cheese, which was cooked correctly and tasted like… a burger. So it goes.

I will say that the Korean BBQ pork belly starter was great! I highly recommend it.

All that aside- for Athens, this is probably the best English Pub experience you will get! I may return in the future to give it a second try.

One thing I noticed: the outside was heavily populated by students, while the inside was populated by non-student (adult) locals. And the inside people hung out rather than eat and run. That says something!”

“I'm very serious about my boba tea places, and when I say this is the best place around Athens, I do mean it!! The small menu always means that the drinks hit exactly where I want them too and doesn't make me feel overwhelmed when ordering. In addition, the flavors are very fragrant and well chosen. Many of the drinks at this place can rival well known also high quality chains that I also enjoy (presotea, mogetea, this last one isnt so much my preference but does crush it which is molly tea). The seasonal tasting menu is also a great choice every single season and I love how they also keep that selection small as well.”
