UPDATE: I'm here now. The service is unchanged.
The food is fantastic. I would eat here more often if it weren't for the service. It's very awkward when I come in to pick up my order. The woman behind the counter doesn't smile or say Hello. She just stares at me like I'm annoying her; that she's angry that I'm there. If it only happened once, I would assume she was just having a bad day, but she's like that every time. It's very off-putting and makes me reluctant to return.

This is my favorite place for Empanadas!!! They are gluten free and absolutely delicious. The place is small and it's difficult to park on a busy day. Totally worth a try.

Small, casual with very good food. S few tables inside and picnic tables in the shade of big trees outside. A surprising good experience for a store that shares the parking lot with a gas station.

I enjoyed my chicken tostada - very tasty with lots of fresh ingredients. The service was quick and friendly. But, I didn't expect to get so many mosquito bites in the middle of the day, so do sit inside! I was going to suggest some hanging or potted plants to disguise the fact that you're sitting in a parking lot on a noisy corner, but, hey, that might attract more skeeters!

Dear gas station restaurant, I apologize for judging you and being apprehensive about trying you. You blew me out of the water and now I want to be best friends.
You learn as a kid to ‘not judge a book by its cover’ and that is true of Cylantros. Yes, it is attached the Shell gas station but a better way to put it is that the gas station it attached to it. Cylantros is the main event here after all.
Our table ordered the VENEZUELAN PATACÓ (with pork and shredded beef), CACHAPA (with just cheese), and sampler. All of the items were phenomenal. The cachapa was a sweet corn pancake and just perfect amount of flavor- I would add meat next time. The sampler gave a good variety of options- the best being the plantain and black bean arepa in my opinion. The star of the show though was the pataco. Hands down the BEST sandwich I have had in a VERY long time. The plantains are the ‘bread’ it is filled to the brim with meat, lettuce, tomato, etc. It is a must try!! I cannot wait to go back and get the sandwich again and try other arepas. If you need to ‘fuel’ yourself go to Cylantros, eat outside and embrace it!

Weird smell when you walk in. Like humidity and old smell.

Used to be one of our favorites and we told everyone about this hidden gem but after tonight we won't be going back. We paid $80 and waited 45 minutes for our food. I don't mind paying a little more for quality food but I watched her put my empanada in the microwave and listened to her explain that there WAS ground beef in it even though I couldn't spot any with my naked eye. The tiny tacos used to be 99 cents but for $2.70 a piece, it's outrageous. They did apologize for the wait but for the price and quality, unfortunately I can no longer recommend and won't be returning.

No luxury dine in, but THE FOOD!!! OMG, the food!!! Tastes like homemade comfort after a hard day at work. I love the “pelua” arepa, the carne mechada patacón venezolano and the cachapa with guayanés cheese. I’ve tried the real thing in Caracas, and their cachapas are great he real thing. The staff is friendly, especially María.

You know what they say about gas station restaurants. This is one of those hidden gems. The food is authentic, full of flavor and reasonably priced. Insider tip, ask for your arepa to be fried. Do not sleep on the cilantro sauce and the hot sauce. Both are homemade and are amazing. The Torta with Chorizo is amazing. Definitely get an order of fried cheese. This is not your typical fried cheese. There is no breading. The cheese itself is fried with a delicious crispy crust and those dipping sauces.

Cylantros Venezuelan Restaurant Review
The food at Cylantros was excellent—fresh and full of flavor! I ordered a combo with steak, rice, beans, fried plantains, and a drink for just $14, which is a great deal for the quality and portion size.
The only downside is the location. It’s literally next to a gas station, so parking is very limited, and inside seating consists of only three tables. There are more places to sit outside, but it was way too hot during my visit.
Overall, if you’re looking for authentic Venezuelan food at a great price, this is worth checking out—just be prepared for the seating and parking challenges.
