Dear gas station restaurant, I apologize for judging you and being apprehensive about trying you. You blew me out of the water and now I want to be best friends.
You learn as a kid to ‘not judge a book by its cover’ and that is true of Cylantros. Yes, it is attached the Shell gas station but a better way to put it is that the gas station it attached to it. Cylantros is the main event here after all.

No luxury dine in, but THE FOOD!!! OMG, the food!!! Tastes like homemade comfort after a hard day at work. I love the “pelua” arepa, the carne mechada patacón venezolano and the cachapa with guayanés cheese. I’ve tried the real thing in Caracas, and their cachapas are great he real thing. The staff is friendly, especially María.

You know what they say about gas station restaurants. This is one of those hidden gems. The food is authentic, full of flavor and reasonably priced. Insider tip, ask for your arepa to be fried. Do not sleep on the cilantro sauce and the hot sauce. Both are homemade and are amazing. The Torta with Chorizo is amazing. Definitely get an order of fried cheese.
