Honestly would've given 3 stars but our server was really nice and had a good time. I mostly wanted to leave a review as a WARNING to anyone who orders the birria the Salsa that comes with it is INSANELY SPICY. Like not the fun kinda spicy but the kind that makes the side of your face numb for 5 minutes. My friends were making fun of me but then they tried it too and we were all SWEATING. if pain is your thing go for it but for everyone else considered yourself your official warning
Unfortunately the food be service was not as expected. First off, we ordered a house margarita
And a Michelada. The marg came out fine, no garnish and overly sweet. The michelada came out completely incorrect which we informed the waiter who then failed to correct the drink and just bring out the missing ingredient (the tomato juice) in a cup on the side. From there my husband had to personally mix his drink at the table. From there we had to continually as for napkins and water etc. Our food did arrive promptly however all at different times, as in 10 to 15 min between to first and last main. By the time my son received his food my main, the tequila chicken was cold. My husband ordered a watercress salad instead of the rice and beans (and I’ll add he confirmed while ordering the watercress salad rather than the iceberg salad, to which he was confirmed) however received and undressed iceberg salad when my son’s food arrived (so 15 min after his food had arrived). All in all service and food was completely subpar and the atmosphere was the winner however only due to the impeccable weather.

Not my first time here but will definitely be my last. I went upstairs to get a drink. It was packed as always but the bar had spaces around it. I waited at the bar in a seat for my drink. The bartender finally made her way towards me and 2 women came beside me and she automatically took their orders. I told her that I was next and she said in a Snappy voice “Well I didn’t see you so imma take their drink and you can wait”. I then felt offended and went to the other side to get the other bartender’s attention. I then asked the other bartender if that’s their norm to overlook those who were sitting down at the bar. Of course she didn’t have an answer. Then I asked her to bring the other bartender over so I could get an understanding of her behavior. I even told her I understood that it was a lot of people and it’s easy to overlook people and I apologized when I had no reason to. She was still so rude and didn’t take any accountability. I am trying so hard to believe that it had nothing to do with her being prejudice/racist. But I feel that she was very prejudice and picked and chose who she wanted to help. I didn’t get her name but she was a young brunette that worked rooftop on 5/30. I shouldn’t feel this way when I am just trying to enjoy good music and drinks. Please train your staff to be more respectful and fair.

Absolutely terrible experience at Pure Taqueria in Woodstock. We went with our family for dinner and from the start everything was wrong. First, the drinks came out incorrect. We let it slide because mistakes happen.
Then the kids’ steak tacos came out on corn tortillas when we specifically ordered flour tortillas. The waiter took them back and instead of remaking the food, they literally just swapped the tortillas and brought the same tacos back. Completely unacceptable. What if my kids had a food allergy or sensitivity? That level of carelessness is dangerous.
On top of that, the steak itself smelled bad and tasted off. My kids refused to eat it before even taking a full bite because something clearly wasn’t right. I checked it myself and the meat absolutely tasted spoiled or old. We told the waiter and he could not have cared less. No apology, no concern, no effort to replace the meal, nothing. The customer service was pathetic. It felt like the staff genuinely did not give a single damn about the customers or the food they were serving.
The only thing I regret is still leaving a tip after being treated like that. Between the careless food handling, bad quality meat, and terrible service, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. Avoid this place.

It's such a cute little restaurant in such a cute neighborhood, but the food was not good. at all. the only good thing we ate were the chips and salsa.
celery in the ceviche was... a choice. and not a good one. the flavor and texture of the celery ruined the ceviche for me. the birria tacos were made with lamb, and they were not good either. The tacos were excessively greasy, poorly seasoned, and the meat was too gamey. The birria broth was lackluster at best.
I didn't finish any of the food, and the waitress was nowhere to be found for a majority of the time... we debated on just ditching our table without paying because the food was so bad and the waitress was nowhere to be found for us to pay for our single bites of food. thankfully we have morals.

This place used to be great, but the menu and quality have severely declined, while the prices have increased drastically.
We had dinner at this place on a Friday evening, and unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We ordered chicken tacos and chips, but they were cold and not very tasty. While it might be a good spot for a DJ and music on a Friday night, it’s not worth going just for the food. I’ll definitely skip this place in the future.

The ambience and food was great. Had some dietary restrictions and our bartender Emily went out of her way to take care of me.

Their ceviche trio used to be so delicious! What happened? I get the the trio is no longer on the menu but the shrimp ceviche we ordered yesterday was disappointing to say the least. So much...too much celery, not enough lime or shrimp. Please go back to the original recipe. My husband loved his tacos al pastor.

I’m writing this only average based on my experience. I got the ceviche and there was maybe a spoonful of seafood in it along with a lot of cheap veggies (aka celery-who puts celery in ceviche? They don’t do that in Mexico!). The house margarita seemed like it had a decent shot of tequila, but the price was pretty outrageous. Other than that, the chips and salsa were good and seemed reasonably priced.

The music problem at Pure has become really disappointing for the community. Woodstock is a super family friendly area - and I don't know why now they start playing Big booty Mix vol. 5 before the sun has even gone down and there's kids playing right outside. This is a fun going out spot for many people and it's great to have - but Pure has not been respectful of the community as a whole lately. There should not be vulgar rap music playing before 9:30pm - and I should not be able to hear it from way down the street - ever. This is not a club in downtown Atlanta. Totally killing the vibe of dt woodstock. And this is coming from someone who is in her 20's... it's not just the older crowd that feels it is disrespectful and that it is not the culture we want in our downtown. I miss the days when Pure had live guitarists in the evenings that everyone could enjoy. I hope the city takes notice, as the woodstock city council has made such great efforts to turn woodstock into what it is becoming - and Pure is totally taking away from that. It's a bummer I have to leave a review like this. While I'm not a fan of their food, their staff has always been incredibly friendly - and under difference circumstances this really could be the best place to hang out downtown.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day my friend & I decided to sit on the rooftop. The rooftop is a cool vibe but the food was awful. We both had the birria tacos with rice & beans on the side. Everything was so bland I didn’t taste a pinch of seasonings.
