“Excellent local eatery specializing in plate lunches. Favorite entrees include pork adobo, various stews and curries, tempura and fried chicken. The Hawaiian plate with pork lau lau is also a standout. A friendly, family atmosphere with hard working employees.“

Ambiance is fine, it is at an airport and feels a bit like a food court even though it has its own area/restaurant space.“

“I had been on island for a week and the day I leave I found this place. The food was amazing and felt like home cooked eating. The owner and staff were friendly and talked to us for quite some time about everything. They are genuinely some of the nicest people we’ve met on the island and must suggest this place to anyone and everyone that is coming to Kauai. Don’t make the same mistake we did, come on your first day and you won’t be disappointed.“

“We are Marriott Owners and stayed on property to enjoy the Royal Sonesta amenities. Kukui's bar opened up after their beautiful remodel.while we were there. I shared my thoughts with Anthony, who was the manager on site. Christmas Day was crazy busy and the staff kicked butt and did a fantastic job. Boy, were they hustling and still kept their composure and professionalism! The menu has been refreshed and had many great healthy options. The prices are standard for this type of higher end property. The breakfast menu offered many options and all that we tasted were beautifully plated and very delicious! Yes, there were hiccups, which is expected, but the staff did the best they could. I'm not going to mention what needed to be improved on yet. “We stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort and went to Shutters the first night to get a drink to have while walking on the beach. It was not high quality. I saw the "bartender" go to the cooler and grab a premixed "manhattan" in a glass and pour it into a plastic cup for us to go out to the beach area. My wife had a mai tai. I think that one was at least mixed when it was ordered. Mine tasted like it was - tired, a bit diluted, and clearly made long before I drank it. If that were the end of the story, I would be arguing about whether to do 2 or 3 stars, but the best part is what came next. We were wandering around in Hanapepe and ended up buying a fresh dragonfruit from a little store. When we came back, I went to the bar to see if they could give me a knife. I expected a plastic or maybe butter knife, but the busboy got me a steak knife, which was so much better. Next night, we had some left over poke and I asked for whether they had soy sauce, and the busser came back with packets for us to take to the room. The staff definitely went out of their way and I would give 5 stars for that, but I cannot ignore the bad drinks. Did not get to try the food.“

“Our bar tender was really friendly and personable. I saw him making conversation with everyone sitting at the bar including us. The drinks were delicious, we didn’t try the food unfortunately but the menu had some good options. Perfect place to hangout and wait for your flight, they have AC too which was a huge plus for us.“

“The Valentine's Day buffet was absolutely incredible - I was looking for a place that was offering seafood and at least one potato dish, some of my wife's favourite foods, and Naupaka delivered! We arrived about half an hour before our reservation and were invited to check out the property. There were hula lessons happening, then a Polynesian dance group, and then live music. The variety of food was great! The poke was the best I've ever had, the steak, while all cooked medium or more, was tender and juicy, and there was enough variety that almost anybody would find something they'd fall in love with, and the dessert selection - which included fresh chocolate covered strawberries - was enough to tempt you away from filling up on just entrees. My wife, who hates coffee, wants to give a special shoutout to the mocha mousse, which she snuck out a second of to save for later!“
