I ordered take out, the food was good and I really like the rolls. I was just disappointed they changed the deluxe chirashi bowls. I buy it every year for my dad’s birthday. This year it looked so empty… I was so shocked I called the restaurant thinking my order was wrong.

Just an FYI if you want to buy the ($39) deluxe chirashi bowls it’s very different now. No more oyster, uni, tamago, and no garnish/shisho leaves.

The new bowl they added a raw shrimp.

The lady who helped me was very nice and professional.

Was craving tempura and havent visited this place in a long time so decided to stop by after work for the early bird special that they still offer.

A hidden gem across from the old Chilis and Sears Pearlridge, next to Blue Tropix. Reservations recommended, I went right after opening and solo dining so I got to sit at the sushi bar.

Ordered the Early Bird Dinner Special for $24.95, and selected sashimi and salmon for my two choices. Comes with miso soup and soybeans while you wait for your food. For the price, its a great meal, the sashimi was fresh and the tempura light and crispy. However the salmon was a bit overcooked and dry... You can see it in the photo.

A popular spot for groups, I would recommend as compared to another restaurant similar to this one. 4 stars🤙

We went 2 weeks ago. Early bird special was excellent and a great deal. I think they were short staffed that night. Only 1 waitress was working, so there was a short wait time to order, but she did a great job keeping up.

This used to be our go-to spot for Sushi, sad to say we will never be returning again. Last night we place a takeout order over the phone and waited about 40 minutes before driving to the restaurant to pick up our order (we were not given a time frame as to how long the order would take). We got there and were told our order was in the process of being made, after 30 minutes of waiting in the restaurant for the takeout order we were then told the chefs only began our order now. 30 more minutes passed (a total of an hour waiting at the restaurant) at this point we have seen families come in and out dining in... We were tired of waiting so we asked for a full refund and for them to just cancel the order, that's when the hostess said they were almost done with the order. It was a Saturday night so we give them the benefit of the doubt of being crowded and the hostess looked flustered. BUT THEN, we waited another 30 minutes, we asked for a refund again the manager or maybe lead for the night said she was so sorry and told the hostess to just give us what sushi was made and refund us for the order. It took another 30 minutes for them to do this (we have waited about 2 hours at this point). We took the 4 rolls they made us (not the whole order), it was yummy and we were willing to let it go because the sushi was so ʻonolicious (and we got what we wanted even if it wasn't everything. I am writing this review because today, we realized they charged us for the whole order that they didn't even make and through us waiting 2 hours in person they didn't even discount or rectify the solution (give us a refund) like they said they would.

Look, their food is soooo good and the hostess were nice! But I'm very disappointed, I didn't think I'd have to spend my Saturday night waiting for sushi that I didn't get and then get charged for the WHOLE order.

Mahalo - Came to California Beach Rock n Sushi to celebrate a friend visiting Hawaii and my wife’s birthday — absolutely blown away. Best sushi on Oahu, hands down. The chef is easily the best I’ve met in the Pacific. Mixed sushi plate was incredible, drinks (beer + sake) were on point, and the vibe is a perfect blend of island warmth and Cali cool. Fast service, super kind local owner, and an all-around amazing evening. Bonus: I’m now officially a hero to my friends visiting from South Korea and my family. Can’t wait to come back. Sco

Absolutely delicious food — I couldn’t leave without writing a review! Highly recommend this place.
The Garlic Squid was savory and addictive (perfect with beer), and the Sizzling Steak was flavorful and amazing. The sushi rolls (Salmon Crunch, Spicy Tuna, Unagi) were all super fresh and beautifully made. Everything I ordered was so delicious. No misses at all.
Loved the relaxed Hawaii local vibe, easy parking nearby, and the friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

It seemed like the owner and chef had recently changed. The taste and quality have been upgraded. This place has recently become my favorite restaurant. The rolls were fresh and the steak was cooked perfectly. The staff were also friendly.

I will give them 5 stars because I loved the California roll and it was amazing. It was so fresh and good. One more thing was that cheif was so kind and I want to visit again.

I got take out and tried 7 different rolls and the teriyaki chicken bento box but the food was decent. There was nothing special about this place and this was agreed between 4 different family members.
