Cozy little casual greasy spoon ramen shop with very friendly service. Chicken yakisoba and miso ramen were both good.

It was a nice change to takeout from here. Haven't gone in years. Both of us were craving for gyoza. I also ordered 2 chicken katsu curry plates (without the curry). Thought I'd be charged less without the curry but it was the same price. I went back a few minutes later to confirm the price. Waitress said there was no lesser charge and asked if I wanted the curry. That was very nice of her. She packed the curry in a takeout container and gave it to me without looking annoyed. I appreciated that great customer service. Gyoza tasted perfect!

Great place for comfort food of ramen and fried rice and gyoza. Owner is really friendly as well.Parking: Can get very busy as times, but going early allowed for lots of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor, so no stairs to deal with. Handicap stalls are close to their front door.

Ezogiku in the Waimalu shopping plaza is def not your authentic ramen, it's more like a "fast food" ramen but it's so UNDERRATED!! It's been a favorite since I was a little kid for those quick ramen cravings! The menu is so big you can always find something good! The ankake ramen is my fave!! It's seafood & vegetable (shrimp, fish, ika, cabbage, carrot, shiitake mushroom, etc) in a thick gravy over broth and noodles (ask for it spicy!!) You can have the same gravy on top of crispy noodle too! Yummy! And I love their gomoku ramen too because I just love my ramen with tons of veggies inside!

Ezogiku is located at the Waimalu Shopping Center. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. The parking lot is shared with the other businesses in the center so it can be hard to find parking during certain hours. My dad, sister, and I came here for an early lunch at 11:00 am on Sunday. There wasn't anyone dining in at the restaurant at the time we went so there was no wait time to be seated. I ordered the Beef Sukiyaki Bowl. The bowl comes with rice, beef, noodles, tofu, cabbage, and red pickled ginger. The portion is generous and fulfilling. The prices have gone up throughout the years but it is still very reasonably priced.

These guys have been around longer than Ramen-Ya. The saimin is way better and they give a bigger bowl and quantity of it. They serve less fried rice though which is still better than Ramen-Ya and other places similar to it. The price for a two piece shrimp tempura was $6. Way too expensive. Don't even know why I ordered it. The fried rice was delicious. The old lady serving us was nice and attentive.

I enjoy eating here and my usual meal is the Mini Combo D (2-choice) which consists of a mini won ton ramen and a side 4 pieces of gyoza. If I'm really hungry there is a 3 choice version that also includes a side bowl of pork fried rice. Instead of shoyu-sauce try substituting it with gyoza and chili oil over the rice. It's very tasty this way.The ambiance is a bit ghetto and not well kept. Dirty floors, a couple of counter stools are broken and a hazard. Magazines left under the counter are simply scattered left lying around in a mess. An eye sore if it bothers you. They do have a restroom in back but one needs to dodge a couple of buckets used to collect dripping water from the AC units. But I'm not complaining as finding any restroom these days seems to be a difficult find.Service is not the best and for a small business I would think they would put more effort into service.A quick hello, and sit anywhere while the menu is already on the table and posters hung all around the restaurant walls. You figure what you want. Water is offered. You may not see any service after that. The cashier hides behind the cash register and rather look at his phone than work any harder. You have walk up the cashier and pay. They don't come to you. And a tip is expected but not required. Often workers are on there cell phones while the cook does most of the work.Aside all those observations I'm just there to enjoy my meal and leave.I think they have a lot of potential if they put more effort in improving the quality in all these areas.

5 stars based solely on childhood memories and the fact they survived covid thus far.... yes, ive seen some questionable creatures run around here, but i definitely try to grab some curry, ankake or jumbo gyoza around once a month or whenever im in the area and not eating waimalu chop suey or saimin or husky tacos....

Delicious food that made my husband feel nostalgic from when he was a little boy in Japan. Not the cleanest restaurant in anyway but if you can look past that, then you're in for a treat. And we didn't get sick afterwards so that's good to know! The cold noodles were absolutely delicious. Also, plenty of parking!

I've been coming to Ezogiku since 2010 with my then boyfriend, now husband. We predominantly went to the now closed University Ave. location, since it was the most convenient, but we frequented this spot as well. Ezogiku has become our benchmark for non-fussy, old school ramen shops. They are consistent and simple in terms of their flavorful broth, noodles, and char siu. Ezogiku's mochiko chicken and gyoza are to this day my favorite mochiko chicken and gyoza anywhere, bar none. Their fried rice is excellent, and tastes even better as leftovers. My husband and I are super nostalgic for Ezogiku, and will continue to think about it fondly for the rest of our lives.
