First time trying birria tacos at a little pop up for a function at my work and was blown away! The two people who were working the tent were extremely friendly, positive, cool and laid back being it a comfortable and very enjoyable experience! The taste was phenomenal and would’ve ate all they had if I had the space. 100% a place I’d recommend and definitely going to have to go down to their actual restaurant!
The owner brought her food truck to our company for a pop up. Best tacos on the island. Good vibes and delicious food recommend 10/10
This is my go-to spot after I get my hair cut at nearby Major League barber shop. The food, service, and atmosphere are top-notch. I've had the pollo asada and the chorizo & egg tacos, both with rice and beans. 🤤
This is a Veteran/family owned business that takes their food creations and customer relations seriously. It is also SoCal Mex-based flavor-wise and takes me back to the neighborhood taco shops in L.A. and San Diego.
I look forward to eventually trying everything on the menu.

This place is the real deal—authentic Mexican flavor that hits the soul. You can taste the love in every bite. The carne asada tacos were juicy perfection, and don’t even get me started on the birria—INSANE. My wife couldn’t stop raving about the POZOLE. Hands down our new go-to spot. Forget the touristy joints—this is where the magic happens. We’ll be back again…and again!
The owners are the sweetest couple. They offer some of the best burritos, tamales, and horchata. I especially love seeing their daughters help out at the shop. You leave feeling like you just stopped by your relatives house for a warm meal and hug.
P.S.
Thank you for the free slice of flan ❤️
One of the best Torta’s I’ve ever had, definitely recommend 🤤
Best on island!!! We've had birria tacos at different places on island and we finally found one that is the best!!! Their horchata is on point. It's not watered down and full of flavor. Definitely coming back!!!!
Amazing food, loved get inventive pineapple corn tamale and her mole sauce enchilada are to die for. She was so sweet and she even gave us a free ube horchata. Will come back for sure
Visiting from the mainland this is the first authentic Mexican food I’ve had. I can tell the owner is real LA just like my family. I had the quesabirria tacos and they were bomb af!

It was delightful to have freshly made specialty foods. My family ordered chili rellano and chorizo tamales, and I ordered horchata. So refreshing. Taste cinnamony.
We'll be back to check out their specials of the day!

I went to Straight Outta Husk right before lunch and was greeted by the owner and her two adorable daughters. The service was great and quick, and the food was fresh and hot—highly recommend!
I decided to take my order to go, but I did notice a dine-in option inside Palama. The smell of the food was amazing and I couldn’t resist eating it in the car.
I ordered a birria taco, which was delicious! I wish I had ordered more than one! The consommé was incredible—I couldn’t get enough of it and even thought about drinking it after I finished my taco.
I also tried a chorizo and cheese tamal with rice and beans. It was just as good as the birria taco. The portion size was generous, and the price was reasonable. The tamal had a nice heat level—enough to make my mouth tingle but not so spicy that I had to stop eating.
To wash it all down, I ordered an ice-cold horchata, which was super refreshing and paired well with everything. I finished my meal with a slice of their flan, which was equally impressive—*chefs kiss*.
I will definitely be going back to order more delicious food.
Straight Outta Husk has become a weekly meal. It is how I reel in the week by grabbing tacos after work. The food is always amazing and well worth the wait.
