Menus were soggy and falling apart. Their utensils looked like they belonged in a museum. It wasn't a great start to the meal.

Second time here in the past 2 weeks. My son loves this place and said it's better than his former favorite Gomatei. I ordered the Tanaka Spicy with level 3. The bowl comes with piping hot soup and perfectly cooked noodles. Level 3 is perfect for me, spicy but enjoyable. The broth is smooth and goes perfectly with the chashu and noodles. Their truffle fries are excellent too! We had to reorder more as the kids devoured them. I'd also add on some gyoza and chicken karaage. Both had a nice crunch with great flavor. Definitely our new ramen spot.

Service was non existent. Had to wave down a serve to order and they checked up on us 0 times throughout the meal. The portion cost-per-portion of the appetizers was disappointing. The tables are propt up using paper towels and the chairs had oil stains from ramen left after the previous party. The food tasted good though.Food Quality (1-5): 4Taste, freshness, presentation, and culinary creativity.Service (1-5): 1Friendliness, efficiency, and knowledge of the staff.Ambience (1-5): 2Decor, music, lighting, and overall atmosphere.Cleanliness: 2Overall hygiene of the place including restrooms and dining area.Value: 3Pricing of the food and beverages in relation to quality and portion sizes

While my son is a picky eater, the repeated reminders from our waitress about not bringing outside food were a bit overwhelming. It would be helpful if the restaurant could communicate their policy more clearly, perhaps with a poster, to avoid any misunderstandings. What a shame.

The food is delicious. I absolutely love their ramen. The issue I had is with the service. When it came time for the check, our waiter was nowhere to be found, and we had to flag down someone else. They can only split large checks in two, which is frustrating. Then, they added a 18% gratuity charge automatically and didn't tell us. I was checking the receipt because I didn't understand how what we ordered cost 160. Turns out they had added a $25 tip. I almost tipped them $60 because no one told us, nor were there any obvious signs stating that parties of certain sizes automatically had gratuity added. And for kickers, the suggested gratuity at the bottom was calculated off the total with the 18% already added in. CHECK YOUR RECIPTS!

I've never been to a restaurant where you order and cook your own food, It was very strange to me at 1st, why go out to a restaurant & pay those $$$ and you cook your own food? Then I got into the experience and could see the nostalgia for maybe a 1st time thing but not a thing for me. It's a bit too dark to tell if the meat is cooked thoroughly. Very friendly service & great service, for sure. The food was pretty good, not anything to go ga-ga over or anything.

My girlfriend wanted ramen and I wanted something else. I brought in my food from food court and we sat. The girl took out order then, once she brought her food, informed us we could not bring outside food in. Why not tell us before we order? Why eliminate business when all parties don’t want the same thing? Your restaurant is outside a food court in a mall.

Quick service, good food, convenient location but not exactly the cleanest. That describes this eatery in a nutshell. The restaurant is dark but it feels like it could use a good cleaning as the table and floors are a little sticky. The location is great as it's situated in the mall. You are seated quickly, staff takes your order efficiently and dishes arrive fast enough for you to be sufficiently satisfied. The ramen comes out with a hot broth but the pork and egg are a little cold which means they prepped everything prior to serving which means the dish has a little bit of a leftover feel. However the ramen is tasty and noodles are perfectly Al dente. The char siu rice is hearty with the rice and shredded park seasoned with soy and star anise. The gyoza was good and tasted as expected...little pre frozen taste. The fries are addicting and you can't stop at one!Everything was good but probably would come here again only if other offerings in surrounding areas are too busy to offer seating.

Finally got the chance to stop in (August) for some ramen and takoyaki. The flavor was good in both ramen's that we ordered and the takoyaki was also yum. Takoyaki can be filled with too much batter and little to no tako, but this one came through. It actually reminded us of takoyaki eaten in Osaka. The toppings were perfect. Looking forward to returning.

Found this place on Yelp. First time here. Wife wanted to try a new place for ramen. I ordered the garlic volcano ramen. The broth was perfect for me. It definitely had a really good garlicky taste. For me, you can't get enough of garlic. The spice was perfect. I expected it to be more spicy but this hit the right spot. Wife ordered the Tanaka classic ramen. She loved it. She was feeling a little under the weather so she definitely enjoyed it and set a better tonight. We will for sure be back again. The service was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just very minimal in service.

Being the ramen enthusiast that I am, let me just say that the noodles here are top notch, but what is really memorable is the topping combinations here that make it even more delicious. They are truly unique and both the Kapolei and Aiea locations are great but love the space of this one which is located in downtown pearlridge. Stopped in for a quick lunch with my daughter and we love noodles and were not disappointed. I normally like to order Parmesan cheese as a topping as it adds really great flavor and only sorry I didn't do it on this trip. The portion of the extra side noodles next to my Tanaka classic ramen was big in portion and my daughter enjoyed it. The ambiance is peaceful and quiet and the service id quick and efficient. Thank you for a delicious ramen bowl and we will see you again!
