“Been to the Big Island with the family five times and love Kona coffee but didn't really think about putting a coffee farm on our list until this past trip where (oddly) we were just winging things and just going to have a relaxing vacation. Googling things to do on a drive, we happened across place that was along the way to a fruit stand we wanted to visit. We arrived late afternoon and it seems everyone was winding down after the day. It was just my little family of four but they offered to take us on a tour of the facilities. They do everything there on site from planting to bean to roast. The master roaster (I am so bad with names but I wish I could remember) was very gracious and educated us on everything coffee while he was roasting a batch in a small machine which is the only roasting machine they use. They didn't talk about the financials of anything other than when I asked, but being a math geek it was easy to see why their coffee, being small batch artisinal, costs as much as it does. However, their pricing was competitive with all the other brands of Kona coffee and it is excellent. Tried the medium roast before the tour started and then at end I remembered the roaster telling me that I should try the dark roast and I was not disappointed. If you are on the Island, give them a visit. If you can't make it out, order a few bags of their coffee online. The coffee is smooth and the dark roast is not at all bitter or do the beans get that shine from over-roasting. One of the most well balanced and roast levels are perfect. Each level accentuating different flavors of the beans. One of the best coffees I have had.Great place. Hope to visit again soon.“

“I'm a little late with this review, but I visited the farm back in October of 2018 and John gave my friend and I an amazing and thorough tour. We learned so much about coffee and the coffee we purchased to take home with us was the best coffee I've ever had. He truly loves coffee and loves the business.“

“Definitively a place you need to stop! We were welcomed by a wonderful women with a big heart that explain us everything about her farm and made us taste different things. “What a beautiful property!! We loved walking around here before stopping in their coffee shop for a cup of coffee. The staff here were friendly and welcoming. Our coffee was good, but I did order a flavored latte from the menu, and it was pretty sugary. It overpowered the coffee, unfortunately. I need to come back for a cup of black coffee.“

“The Craig and Leslie Lee have an amazing coffee farm. We acquired so much knowledge about coffee farming in Kona. The coffee is simply exquisite! We went to purchase coffee for my husband and Leslie gave us a mini tour. She also fixed us a cup of her medium roast coffee.. it's to die for!!! I'm not a coffee drinker, but now I have become one! These owners are truly passionate about the coffee they grow and are very conscious about the environment and how they produce the coffee. You can see why they always place first in coffee competitions!! We purchased coffee to take back home to the mainland .“

“This is the coffee shop you’ve been looking for. Exceptionally fresh, delicious, and a warm welcoming couple who are clearly very serious and passionate about coffee.Without question one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. We feel so lucky to have met Matt and Lisa at BerryBird Coffee at the Ali’i Marketplace on Tuesday and we loved the coffee and our new friends so much we came back with the whole family on Thursday! My first visit we had the pour over grown in Hawaii, which was phenomenally smooth and rich. It left me thinking about it for the next two days.On our second trip we had pour overs of both their medium roast and a Columbian bean Matt was kind enough to share from his own personal supply! The family really enjoyed the espresso and vanilla bean latte, with the vanilla beans grown locally as well. Lisa made us a very refreshing cooler with some tea made from coffee pulp and a citrus jelly which was perfect on a warm day. We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re on Big Island! Thank you Matt and Lisa!“
