“After a long morning at Waimea State Park, I picked Da Booze Shop because the name made me laugh. Well the jokes on me because the food, service, and atmosphere were stellar! I have always loved eating in Mom and Pop places because they always have the best food. I got the Mahi Katsu and had enough leftover for a snack. If you are traveling with kids this is a great place to eat. You can eat across the street at the park and let the kids play and expend some energy.“

“This place was highly recommended by my patient that was part of a Facebook Group that posted about this place a lot and they were featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was good and the service was fantastic, but not so good that we made a second stop on our trip. Their service was quick too, so it's a good stop if you only have a short time to eat! Their menu includes: Truffle Burger, Veggie Burger, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Kenji Burger (teriyaki, ponzu aioli, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato & arugula), Misoyaki Fish Sandwich, Salads, Sushi Burritos & Bowls (loco moco, chicken katsu, misoyaki fish, and poke). “The Lava burger was one of the best I have ever had. If you are in Waimea don’t pass it by.“

“The best hamburger in the state, and I am from California. May even be better than In&Out If you visit Kauai please don’t miss, it’s like not going to Disneyland when you visit our State.“

“This is a quick service burger joint. No frills but it’s not needed. The classic bubba burger hits just right, and personally, adding cheese makes it the right level of crispy, greasy, and cheesy yum.

I really appreciated that both times I went (yes, this was a dinner, then a repeat for lunch the next day) they confirmed the toppings and that I was signed up for the unusual mix. To be clear, I generally hate onions. I went for it with this burger and I’m so glad I did!

The fries and onion rings were simple and classic.

Also, there always seems to be a line but don’t let that scare you off! They’re very fast!“
